Brickbat: Parental Involvement
The Richmond County, Georgia, school system has agreed to pay $1,000 and legal expenses to a mother who was barred from her child's elementary school after she posted a photo of her state weapon carry license on Facebook. Police gave Tanya Mount a criminal trespass warning after she tried to visit the school. She says they questioned her not only about her carry permit but about the fact she is in the Army.

Is every public school teacher in the US utterly stupid*? Anyone got an example of a good one?
* Apart from Walter White, of course
Yes, the good ones are driven out by the bad ones who know they can't be fired.
If they're too good, they're punished.
Okay, now I want to throw up. Thanks.
So they're trying to teach things?
Those bastards!
Teaching children the truth has always been a capital offense. We just don't lynch them like an escaped slave anymore.
Gee, when I was reading books on the level of The Prince in 10th grade, I was apparently too dumb to realize they were too abstruse for me to comprehend. I just read them and won a National Merit scholarship. Too bad the school board didn't protect me. Then I could have gone to Del Mar Junior College, rather than Rice University. Excellence must be squashed because it will dishearten the other students. "Go back to Dick & Jane" or "Heather Has Two Mommies".
The teacher may have had nothing to do with this. (Although "yes" to your question.) It was probably some bored administrator who was snooping around parents' Facebook pages. Like the ones who were spying one kids through their laptop webcams. I don't think that was the actual teachers.
According to the article, it was the Principal who told the cops she was scared and started this bullshit, and she must have started as a teacher
I assume that the principal made some dumbass comment, the mother gave her the same look you'd give a roach running across your kitchen counter, and then principal went looking for payback.

I can. When my daughter was in Chesterfield County, VA schools she had an English teacher named Brian McGill. He took great interest in students who wanted to learn, knew his subject extremely well, and was great at teaching it.
OTOH the same year she year she had a science teacher who was the model of early-onset dementia and a health teacher who couldn't understand "low carbohydrate" doesn't mean "low vegetable" for the simple reason that people can't digest fiber.
cheers Live Free. Nice to hear some good news.
And I am totally using "low vegetable"
Dude you have got to be kiing me, that is absurd!

They need to tweak your algorithm a bit, this is a fairly run of the mill offensive act by school officials.
The spambot's algorithm is still better than Buttplug's.
"Mount said she never had any problems with Principal Janina Dallas, but she was blind-sided weeks earlier during a meeting with Dallas."
The story is not clear about what she was blind-sided about. Did they have an argument over some other subject? Perhaps the pearl clutching principal freaked out when Dallas subsequently posted the photo? Or she found the photo and pissed her pants? The report is not clear about how this all came about.
Given the cravenness shown by educators lately it could be just what it appears to be. In any case, the cops were out of line asking those questions.
Next, school bar parents from campus for posting libertarian sentiments on Facebook.
You don't get out of parent-teacher conferences that easily
Indeed. That's the problem with homeschooling.
I've been barred from having solo interactions with teachers or administrators by my wife regarding our child and we haven't even started daycare.
She has to supervise both of you? That poor poor woman
I mean, she married me. Obviously others should feel sympathy for her.

Tuco shot first!
I had no idea he was still alive. Always liked him. RIP.
Progressives: Fearing the possibility of armed Black people since 1912.
Looks like he has his finger in the trigger guard, so anybody on the floor above should be afraid of that particular black guy holding a gun in an unsafe way.
It's hard to tell in such low resolution, but, to me, it looks like either Malcolm X's finger is bent at the knuckle and in the trigger guard, like you said, or it's pointing outward but looks foreshortened due to the perspective of the camera.
I would have barred her from the school because she's so fucking ugly she'd scare the children and curdle their milk.
They've shown a preference for fuglies over people with self-reliant tendencies.
Did you see the photo of the principal? My guess, if they banned every ugly person from the school it would quickly be depopulated entirely of both teachers and parents.
That's a victory for the students.
No alt-text? I'm as mad as I've ever been!
The "left" has an aversion to the trappings (though not necessarily the results or threat) of violence. Some parent showing off her gun permit & having been or being in the Army = thing to be kept away. Had it been the Navy or Air Force, those would've been OK because they have to do with sailing & flying, but the Army has only to do with shooting people.
