Brickbat: Spare the Rod

Two Martinsville, Indiana, police officers have been suspended for tasering a 10-year-old boy at a home daycare center. Officers were called to the center because the boy was allegedly trying to harm other children and staff members. The department says the boy hit and kicked the officers, but Police Chief Jon Davis says he believes the officers should have been able to handle the boy without using a Taser on him.

The headline should have been ""(Electrical) Resistance is Futile" to key off of yesterday's Brickbat.
I know it's "shocking" Oliver didn't make the connection.
I get the impression Oliver has weeks of these stored up, which is why some of them seem terribly out of date.
You get a charge out of these posts, don't you?
Amply.

I have heard elsewhere that WW is quote the hoplophobic statist. Maybe this is some advance karma.
Also OT: I finally laughed at a Taboola entry - "20 Things That Show Everything In Australia Will Kill You" And we wonder why ifh is so tough...
So it says they slapped the boy to subdue him in the link. Did they also say "Who's your daddy" over and over again while slapping the boy to embarass him?
Love these awesome police tactics.
My money's on, "Get a hold of yourself!" like how you handle a hysterical woman in a 1950s B&W movie.
Obligatory
what? you're complaining about the slap?
How about the tasing? If they had stuck to slapping/physical restraint, they would have been being actually fucking reasonable. If you're not going to use a taser (which they shouldn't) you still gotta do SOMETHING
Or are you one of those people who thinks even the mildest pinch on a child is massive child abuse and kids just naturally automatially listen to their parents and teachers and never do anything bad?
"but Police Chief Jon Davis says he believes the officers should have been able to handle the boy without using a Taser on him."
No effen kidding.
Damien!!!!!
They're lucky they didn't shoot the kid for assaulting an officer.
Chief Jon Davis says he believes the officers should have been able to handle the boy without using a Taser on him.
Not so fast, there, Chief. Childhood obesity is at an all-time high.
Brave kid or he has mental issues. He'll probably be on meds from now on.
Anyone who doesn't obey is treated as a threat. Even a child.
