Iran Supreme Leader: Sanctions Didn't Matter Because We Already Decided to Negotiate With "Satan" on Certain Issues, Talks About to Resume Reveal Hostility Toward Iran
Talks resume today

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, is doing his part to up the rhetoric before nuclear talks between Iran, the US, and four other countries resume in Geneva today.
From the Jerusalem Post:
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Thursday that nuclear negotiations with world powers had revealed US "enmity" towards the Islamic state.
He was speaking hours before the resumption of talks in Geneva.
"We had announced previously that on certain issues, if we feel it is expedient, we would negotiate with the Satan (the United States) to deter its evil," Khamenei told a gathering, reported by the official IRNA news agency.

Yeah, after thirty-some-odd years of being called evil, we might just be somewhat annoyed at you.
Not to mention Iran's longstanding aid to terrorist groups which routinely attack our allies. Emnity is to be expected, really.
They really need to stop taking things so personally. The U.S. has been fucking with Iran since the 1950's. It's not personal. The U.S. fucks with a lot of countries like that. It's what they do. Fucking with non-nuclear countries comes with the territory of being a superpower. It falls under the "because we can" clause of the superpower charter.
When did we lose Great Satan status? At least we're still the Satan for the time being but I know that someday we'll be relegated to just a satan.
Satanflation is a bitch
I blame Obama for loss of status. We are still the far enemy but have devolved into Lesser Satan.
I think the appropriate rhetorical gimmick is to do what the lawyer did when his district-attorney peer wanted to cease being referred to as "the Government".
We should insist on their referring to our negotiators as "Beezelbub, Lord of the Flies, Masters of Hellfire, Princes of Darkness" and that they respectfully play Scandinavian* Black Metal whenever entering or leaving a room.

If they complain, we'd point out that they get to play dress-up every day, and that we want to Play Too No Fair!
Of course we are Satan. Our action cause them to be evil. It isn't their culture or religion or anything like that, but US. Islamists are not evil because they choose to be so but because we asked for it by dressing sexy supporting Israel.
Whoa whoa whoa, I thought we were the Great Satan? Did the Obama presidency downgrade our credit and Satan rating both?
That spy drone they caught had hard drives full of fetish porn for the ayatollah, thus the downgrade.
Huh. Supreme Leader. Is that like the old BG Imperious Leader? Does he sit on some sort of raised, rotating throne, then?
I say we make a secret deal with Iran. They become a liberalized, market state and economy, and we tell the Russians they can't invade. Ever.
I find that referring to the side with which you will be negotiating as "Satan" to be a not-so-useful tactic, but I'm no mullah.
Would you trust us?
You're assuming that the Administration doesn't share Iran's emnity for this country.
It's important to find areas where the negotiators agree.
this won't be the last administration to deal with Iran. Ward Cleaver could be POTUS and the rhetoric would not change.
Ward Cleaver. Veteran. Strong on family values. A natural leader. Good on domestic policy, good on foreign policy, good on June.
"Ward, you were pretty hard on the beaver last night"
Yeah, but probably not good on gay marriage or abortions, which are the only 2 natural rights acknowledged by Team Blue.
The other reason they're negotiating is because our sanctions made them burn through all of their foreign reserves, and if they don't get access to international credit markets sometime in the next few months, then the Iranian economy is going into free fall.
But I'm sure they were planning on negotiating anyway.
It's really sad that we have such an incompetent president during such an important negotiation, too.
There is no good reason why they can't get their enriched uranium from Russia, and I do not trust Obama. I think he'd sell our security interests down the river for much needed photo op--ahead of the upcoming midterms.
He probably doesn't really understand the importance of this negotiation.
Why would I believe anything that some megalomaniacal God-botherer says?
Not to mention the Ayatollah.
