Gag Order Requested in Hernandez Murder Case

Concerns about info related to case against NFL player leaking to the press

Lawyers for former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez will have until Jan. 8 to submit a proposed gag order after they claimed in a court hearing today that "leaks" in press reports by unnamed sources threaten the right of their client to a fair trial.

Fall River Superior Court Judge E. Susan Garsh also set a Jan. 15 deadline for the prosecution to reply with its recommendations.

The judge said she would write a gag order after reviewing the recommendations of both sides.

The gag order was requested by Hernandez's lawyers during a pretrial hearing in connection with the murder case against him.
