Brickbat: Where the White Women At?

Houston police aren't commenting on why they handcuffed a young dancer, took her away from her teachers and turned her over to Child Protective Services. Landry Thompson, 13, had traveled with two of her teachers from Oklahoma for some classes. When cops spotted them napping in their car, they pulled her out and took her away even though the teachers tried to explain they had a notarized letter from her parents giving them guardianship over her during the trip. The fact that her teachers were two black men and Thompson is white probably played no part in the matter.

They probably talked back to the cops. I think that's a capital offense for back guys in Texas. And it's common knowledge in Texas that "they want to steal our women", so that's probably the trigger that started it all.

But that dream of a visit took an ugly turn shortly after leaving the studio Saturday night, when the group, exhausted from their work, stopped off at nearby gas station.

Nothing unusual about this story at all. Groups of people fall asleep at gas stations trying to find their hotel with a GPS all the time. They probably fell asleep 3 or 4 times trying to find it on the way from OK.
