Whitey Bulger Handed Two Life Sentences
Boston gangster was on the run for 16 years
Whitey Bulger, the ruthless gangster who ran the South Boston underworld and then spent 16 years on the run, was sentenced Thursday to two life terms plus five years.
Bulger, who wore an orange prison jumpsuit, did not speak before Federal Judge Denise Casper announced the sentence after a recitation of his crimes.
