John Kerry, Kennedy Assassination Theorist
The secretary of state suspects a conspiracy killed the president.
Last week I mentioned that a majority of Americans thinks it likely that a conspiracy killed John F. Kennedy. One member of that majority turns out to be Secretary of State John Kerry. Politico reports:
Pressed in an interview aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" to explain his beliefs that JFK's death was part of a bigger plot, Kerry said: "I just have a point of view. And I'm not going to get into that. It's not something that I think needs to be commented on, and certainly not at this time."
"I'm not going to go into it. It's just inappropriate, and I'm not going to do more than say that it's a point of view that I have. But it's not right, or worthy, or appropriate for me to comment further," Kerry told host David Gregory.
Kerry said in a recent interview with NBC, as the 50th anniversary of the assassination approaches, he doubts the official story.
"To this day, I have serious doubts that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone," Kerry said about the suspect arrested in the 1963 assassination.
Hat tip: Bryan Alexander. As for me, I think the most persuasive account of Kennedy's death and life is this one:

OMG, OMG, OMG YOU GUYS! PRIVATE INDUSTRY IS LOOKING TO DESTROY USPS! CRONY-CAPITALISM!
Instead of simply being given more money to keep doing the same things the same way its always done them, defiantly maintaining its identity in the face of changing circumstances, the USPS is actually *innovating*.
gives the Postal Service a chance to take some business from United Parcel Service and FedEx, which do not deliver on Sundays
Odd statement. I believe both work with USPS frequently for “last mile” delivery. This simply enhances that relationship.
Yes.
UPS and FedEx rates will probably increase if the USPS were to disappear.
Of course. Because those are the only two delivery services that are privately owned.
Just like we only get our gas from Standard Oil and Exxon.
Kerry should know.
It was the Trilateral Commission.
Well, I have to give Kerry some credit here – he seems to understand that his position at State is not a personal soapbox for him to expound whatever weird conspiracy theory he adheres to from.
No, it’s more like his boss told him to STFU.
Kerry doesn’t believe the Warren Commission, but if we don’t believe everything the Obama Administration says, then we’re a bunch of uneducated redneck, conspiracy-freak, Tea-tards.
Got it.
That picture is one of the best things about the Internet.
Kerry has again chummed the waters with his stupidity, on the lead-up to the JFK’s assassination’s 50th anniversary, so the sharks will prod him now until he offers up a meaty JFK-tinfoil hat tidbit.
Then the frenzy starts. I can’t wait.
John F. Kerry has been known to suffer from a mental illness that causes him to believe he’s John F. Kennedy.
JFK was killed by a racist Teathuglican, obviously.
Climate of Hate. Dallas school children cheered his death.
I always thought he was killed by bullets fired at relatively close range. Damn.
There is no sugarcoating it. JFK’s part is never going to look right.
What does LRC have to say about it…
Nick sure did some major league trolling.
This time, at least, Gillespie has the better end of it.
Perhaps in honor of JFK Day, someone should organize a commemorative national turkey shoot.
Hey, it is the week before Thsnksgiving, after all.
Somebody else linked to that over the weekend.
I think it’s hilarious.
There’s a “best of Charles Burris” button at the bottom, but it’s hard to imagine he could be much funnier than that.
I bet Gillespie takes it as a compliment. Being called “despicable” by some of those guys over there should be a source of pride. I know I’d love it if someone, someday wrote a headline over there like, “The Despicable Ken Shultz”!
Seems like dude might be reacting to the idea that baby-boomer nostalgia is getting pretty…um…passe.
I had another conversation with a Harley guy the other day, who was clearly offended that I had no interest in riding one, whatsoever.
This is sort of the same thing that seems to have happened with Nick, where some baby-boomer dude is hearing that what he thinks is the coolest thing in the world is actually…pretty lame these days.
WTF? Is JFK some sort of an-cap hero over there? WTF?
No, I think Gillespie is just some anti-Rockwell villain–in some of their minds.
A lot of the people comin’ from libertarian stage-right have a lot of hostility towards us.
When Raimondo drops into comments here, there seems to be a lot of hostility, too (I remember seeing it directed at Welch), and the Objectivists still get angry all over again ever time Gillespie or someone else over here says anything that isn’t necessarily flattering about Ayn Rand.
The Ron Paul people seemed to want to blame Reason for bringing up the newsletter story again–and, you know, that’s why Ron Paul wasn’t elected president of the United States!
There are people out there who think the road to Libertopia goes through a stage where embracing neo-confederacy is a perfectly sound strategy. And I don’t think those people appreciate what they would consider hipsters like Gillespie and company destroying their strategy by bringing people into the movement who maybe don’t think that’s so cool.
Like I said, it’s like the reaction you get from a Harley guy, who realizes for the first time that some people don’t think dressing up like a biker from the ’70s and riding around on a bike with technology from the 1920s is such a cool thing to do. And when it starts creeping into their heads that you might think that what they’re doin’ is kinda lame? that’s when they get really hostile.
All true, although I think some of these guys are just hostile by nature.
Did anybody watch Rob Lowe as JFK last night? I recorded it, so please, don’t ruin the ending for me.
SPOLIER: JFK dies. In Dallas.
Kennedy ducks.
I have been schooled!
Maybe Kerry saw the show that was NatGeo last week called “The Smoking Gun”? That show’s theory is that a Secret Service officer in the car behind Kennedy accidentally shot the president in the head when he lost his balance as the car sped up after people heard Oswald’s first shot.
It was interesting because it explained that a lot of the weird cover up like activities surrounding the autopsy weren’t proof of any kind of conspiracy except for government employees trying to hush up the fact one of their guys shot Kennedy.
I tend to think that the conspiracy theories are daft, but if we must have one . . .
“After JFK totally overreacted to the stationing of missiles in Cuba and nearly started a nuclear war over it, J. Edgar Hoover realized that the drug-addled loon in the White House was excessively dangerous to the survival of life on Earth. Accordingly, he arranged a phony ‘Soviet agent’ to recruit Communist sympathyzer Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate Kennedy, and then had Oswald killed before the assassin could tell his story. With hardheaded realists like LBJ and Nixon as successors in office, the United States would never again almost start a nuclear war.”
John . F. Kennedy’s assassination happened 50 years ago and a majority of Americans do not believe The Warren Commission Report. After 50 years of denials, free the files.
