Central Conn. College on Lockdown
Reports of armed man on campus
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — An armed man was spotted on the campus of Central Connecticut State University on Monday, prompting a schoolwide lockdown and warnings for students to stay away from windows as police SWAT teams swarmed the area.
The university declared a campus emergency and an hour later its website continued urging students to remain inside buildings. It said police were searching in the area of a residence hall, and police officers were seen sheltering behind campus walls as several agencies responded.
University spokesman Mark McLaughlin said, "Somebody was seen either with a gun or was thought to have a gun."

Oh no! A gun! What kind of madman would walk around with a weapon? Are we a nation of savages or what?
Maybe if they let guns on school campus, people wouldn't shit bricks when they see people carry. I see people carry all the time at my job, and I'm at ease around them.
Are they sure it wasn't a pop-tart? Or maybe a Toaster Strudel?
