Vancouver Cop Charged with Punching Cyclist in the Head
Apparently didn't like be asked if he didn't have better things to do.
A Vancouver police officer has been charged with assaulting a cyclist after video of the punch was posted on the internet.
The incident happened in March in downtown Vancouver while Const. Ismail Bhabha was handcuffing cyclist Adishea Akhavan after pulling him over for riding without a helmet and running a red light.
When the cyclist asked the officer if he didn't have anything better to do, a video taken by an onlooker appears to show Bhabha winding up and punching Akhavan in the head, which he says he never saw coming — and left him with a tooth through his lip.

FYI to original poster of this piece; you should indicate Vancouver, BC, as it was ambiguous (there is also Vancouver, WA, just north of Portland, OR).
Depends how you broadly you mean “just” north. ;P
Heroes!
We should all thank the powers that be that the officer went home safely after surviving that vicious headbutt to his fist.
Moron, this is exactly why you are supposed to wear a helmet.
Ran a red light? Screw him. Cyclists are garbage.
It’s awesome how all the Progressive’s utopias have the world’s worst cops.
You can’t make a utopia without cracking a few skulls.
Why no link to video? Drunks want to know
Oops, drunks found link saying “Source: CBC News. Read full article. (link)”
Drunks have seen this video before, clicked link, clicked second link about “read more” wasn’t until comments that somebody mentioned this incident happened 5 months ago.
If any mere citizen had done this on video, I guarantee it would not have taken 5 months for charges to be filed. But the DA spent 5 months exploring any possible way to avoid filing charges. What garbage
