Poll: 58% of Americans Disapprove of Obama's Handling of Foreign Policy
As President Obama prepares to address the nation tonight to build support for airstrikes against Syrian military targets, he faces a war-weary American public disappointed in his handling of foreign policy and overall job performance.
According to the latest Reason-Rupe poll, more than half, 51 percent, disapprove of the president's recent job performance, and even more, 58 percent, disapprove of Obama's handling of foreign policy.
President Obama's general approval rating is down seven points since the May Reason-Rupe poll, dropping from 50 percent approval to 43 percent approval.
President Obama also faces a public concerned about the direction of the country, with 61 percent telling Reason-Rupe the country is headed in the wrong direction.

This is a lot of polling.
That's what she said.
At first, I thought it was a coincidence.
Now it is obvious they are doing it on purpose.
Time to get the rolled-up newspaper.
Bad Reason! Bad!
How come I never get polled?
Perhaps because you are not gay? They can send you someplace special.
Maybe if you bought Warty dinner and a movie, you would.
Do you get any polling calls? I don't most likely because we're on the do-not-call list. Which fails to block an astounding number of calls.
The only people who respond to polls are the ones who are dumb enough to pick a call from a number that's not in their contact list.
I got a couple during the 08 election season. I haven't had any since though. I guess "drunk and angry" isn't what they are looking for.
If I get a call from an 800 number or a number that isn't a Seattle exchange, I just take the call, say "fuck off" into the receiver, and hang up. So...I have no idea if I get polling calls or not.
To be statistically valid, the number of calls preempted by "Fuck off" should be recorded as well.
"93 percent of respondents told the caller to go fuck themselves"
Exactly. I mean, sure, there might be variations, like "Go to hell!" or "Piss off!", but I think responses like that would totally dominate the survey. Along with the simple disconnection.
I answered one of these in the last cycle out of curiosity. The questions were typically leading and or broad enough to be meaningless.
This was a mistake as they called me back several dozen times. I didn't answer but I had a pretty good idea how stupid the questions would be in the first place so I guess I deserved it.
Just came in from running the weedeater. Got some water, turned on FOX. Sheila Jackson Lee is blathering about the henious acts Assad has engaged in and the heniousness of the regime. ( That is pronounced HEE-NEE-US and HEE-NEE-US-NESS ).
Oh, and the public resistance to this war is Bush's fault.
Sheila Jackson Lee; reason number 567,432,982 that this government needs to be seriously reigned in.
Cannot stand Sheila Jackson Lee. Love "My Cousin Vinny." Hi-A-nus!
Yeah, she used the word about 20 times. Each time made me cringe, but then, just hearing her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
Also, they are now talking about how the Russians have a plan and jugears wants to hear it. What do you want to bet Putin punks that mOran yet again?
I've been thinking about the whole Bush thing. Maybe Assad remembers our going into Iraq, recognizes that a few hawks still exist, and would rather not be targeted, thus making previous uses of the military responsible for NOT having to do that this time.
It's a theory but it's no less credible than blaming Bush for why there is skepticism for an attack.
Sheila Jackson Lee: dumber than Pelosi.
They're flooding the Zone ... with POLLS!
Also, in a "sudden but inevitable betrayal" - the Russians and Syrians are walking back that whole deal where they'd handover tons of gas shells and rockets to Kerry by next Monday.
What if we agree to send Kerry in there alone and unarmed to pick up the merchandise?
Was it really necessary to have 7 Hit and Run posts and a Reason 24/7 post?
we should have a poll to find out.
Seriously? Only 58%?
What the fucking fuck is it that he's done overseas, that anyone with a half functioning brain, could approve of?
They just approve. A constant state of approval. Approving and obeying. A simpler way of life.

I guess Emily is really bucking for a promotion, or really wants to be noticed by us
She is rather cute.
Good luck with that second one. There's a reason that there are no libertarian women, if you know what I mean.
I notice her every chance I get.
Obama's remaining positive approval has a lot to do with people not wanting to seem racist. Related.
How come I never get polled?
