Dad Charged with Beating Naked Peeping Tom

Put guy spying on teen daughters into the hospital

ALBUQUERQUE—An Albuquerque dad who almost beat a naked Peeping Tom to death has been charged with aggravated battery.

And now his neighbors coming to his defense saying the man did what all fathers would do if they caught someone peering at their daughters though a bedroom window.

Emilio Chavez III is now facing an aggravated battery change after police say he severely beat the accused peeper, Dylan Maho, 29.

"I think it's a shame," said Bill Morang, a nearby neighbor. "How do you think rationally when something like that happens? You defend your family, its basic instinct."

  1. Hopefully there’s one juror that refuses to convict. I know I wouldn’t.

  2. The comments are…colorful, as internet comments usually are. They seem to be running about 95% along the lines of “hero dad was just defending his family”. Even the neighbors’ comments seem to be based as much on the deceased’s alleged unpopular activities as they do on the actual events of the night. It’s also worth noting that the dad has a record of child abuse and domestic violence, and that he chased the guy down the street and killed him elsewhere, making the “defense” claims a little shaky.
