Britain is "just a small island … no one pays any attention to them", reportedly said Russian President Vladimir Putin's official spokesman, Dmitri Peskov. He also joked to Russian journalists that Britain is afraid of wealthy Russians buying up real estate in London.
British Prime Minister David Cameron was expectedly offended and rejected the claim. "Britain will be one of the leaders in bringing forward plans for a peace process for Syria. Britain will be leading the argument across the globe for continuing to respond strongly on chemical weapons," said Cameron.
