St. Louis Newsman Fired over Facebook Comments About IRS Targeting Sues
Said he thought he may have been targeted due to interview questions he asked President Obama
Fired KMOV-TV (Ch.4) anchor Larry Conners filed a defamation lawsuit Tuesday against the television station, president, news director and the station's parent company, Belo Corp.
The lawsuit is the latest of several claims in Conners' ongoing legal battle with his former employer.
Conners, 66, claims his "unblemished" reputation as an "extremely popular" newsman was damaged by the station's news director and president's public statements that Conners refused to follow instructions and gave "an appearance of bias" by posting comments to his Facebook page about his problems with Internal Revenue Service.
