Angry Bird John McCain Wants You All to Shut the Hell Up About Syrian War Strikes

Sen. John McCain is in angry bird mode again. Now he thinks there's some sort of security issue with this open discussion of how the United States might strike Syria. From The Hill:
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Wednesday expressed outrage over leaks related to possible air strikes on Syria, calling them "crazy."
McCain pointed to reports that say U.S. air strikes on Syria could begin as early as Friday.
The Republican senator, who has long called for more aggressive U.S. action against Syria, said the leaks are tipping the U.S. hand.
"But all of these leaks, when strikes are going to take place, where, what's going to be used, if I were Bashar Assad, I think I would declare tomorrow a snow day and keep everything from work," McCain said on Fox News. "This is crazy. These leaks are just crazy."
One wonders if McCain thinks a public vote to authorize military action against Syria might be "aiding the enemy" at this point. Reuters is reporting today that the citizens in Damascus, you know, those folks we're (allegedly) trying to protect, are hoarding food and looking for safe shelter away from potential military targets. Those are the people for whom this open discussion is likely for. No doubt, the military leadership of Syria has been well-aware for months that a foreign strike was a growing possibility.

McCain is one of those broken eggs we here so much about.
*hear*
Yo, McCain! I'm not in favor of attacking Syria. Apparently, neither is a huge majority of the country. Assessing our collective willingness to do something as radical as going to war is supposed to be something you people do, on our behalf.
You'll have to excuse the Senator, his warboner is the only thing that gives Cindy any action these days.
At this point McCain's warboner is so hard he could fuck his way through a concrete wall.
lolz
He should have used that to break out of POW camp.
He didn't have one then.
I thought the leaker was McCain who was standing on the steps of the Capital Building while he masturbated and singing his favorite song, "Bomb, bomb, bomb bomb bomb bomb Syria
Why hasn't he been recalled yet?
If anyone should know crazy, it's John McCain.
Charlie really fucked us good when they sent McCain back home.
Given his age, if anyone knows about leaks, I'd bet it's John McCain.
I guess that, um, Depends
If anyone should know leaks, it's John McCain.
I wish John McCain would die of an anger induced aneurysm on the Senate floor already.
And then bury him in Cleveland so the Browns could let him down one more time?
Funny, I want John McCain to shut the Hell up about everything.
Seriously. I'd back a constitutional amendment that says if you lose a presidential election, you gotta retire from government service immediately.
I'd back a constitutional amendment that says if you lose a presidential election serve a single term in office, you gotta retire from government service are thrown out on your ass immediately.
FIFY
Seconded. Politician was never supposed to be a fucking career, it was a service that one performed for a term or two and then went back to their farm/ranch/business/etc.
That is one thing the military does right. When a new Army Chief of Staff or Marine Commandant is picked, every General senior to the new CoS or Commandant starts processing their retirement papers.
The thing that really pisses me off about this kind of whining by elected officials is that they have no problem in leaking stories that are favorable to their position.

Let's have the airstrikes and then the vote authorizing them. That way, the enemy won't know they're coming and each member of Congress can judge whether they were successful/popular before registering his vote.
They should amend the Constitution to allow this, which, from their perspective, is pure genius.
Constitution? I don't know what that is.
This is a passive-agressive war. It's not about regime change, it's not for humanitarian reasons, and we aren't taking a side. It's all about showing Iran that when we set a red line, we'll eventually get around to enforcing it. That's all.
It's showing Iran once again that the US has an incurable addiction to clueless interventions in the Middle East. It's probably confirming their suspicion that creating their own nuclear weapon is the only way to prevent the Americans from blubbering into Iran.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize John McCain and the majority of congress had declared war on Syria?
I must have missed that part.
They did, but the info hasn't been leaked yet. That's what he's got himself all whipped up about -- if word got out, it might establish some kind of precedent.
McCain should jump in a fighter jet, get shot down over Syria, and spend the next decade in a Syrian POW camp.

Hopefully, we'd leave him there this time. Had we only know how much of an asshole he was going to be 40 years ago...who knows?
"This is crazy. These leaks are just crazy."
Yeah! What sort of lunatic thinks the American people should be allowed to know what their masters are up to?
It's an outrage, it is.
I'd back a constitutional amendment that says if you lose a presidential election, you gotta retire from government service immediately.
I'd back a Constitutional amendment requiring thew losers to be put to death. Also, the winners, when they term limit out of office.
Also, the winners, when they term limit out of office.
I wouldn't wait that long. How about the day after they are sworn in?
I think this might backfire on Obama. I was looking at some comments on CNN this AM. NO ONE was pro intervention. He is out of his fucking mind drunk with power.
Given that he's not eligible for re-election anyway, what makes you think he gives a shit what the peasants think? At this point, it matters not if his approval is in the single digits. He's still president for another 3 years.
He's being a statesman like FDR, forcing a reluctant public to live up its responsibilities and face down Hitler.
And stop paying attention to the Pres's numerous scandals.
(Obama's scandals, not FDR's. Not saying FDR had any scandals, no sir. Harry Dexter White looked into it and couldn't find anything.)
The leaks are coming from inside the house!
The reason the admin is telegraphing the hell out of this is because its all theater. Let them evacuate their bases then lob some missiles. Thump chest. No one is fooled but the proles and partisans. And that's all that matters.
Had McCain won in 2008, Dover AFB would have needed a whole new wing or two on the mortuary building.
Loose Talk Can Cost Lives
The Welfare-Warfare State rolls on, unimpeded.
By the way, what happened with that jihadi McCain was supposedly photographed with? I suppose it must be a made-up non-scandal, because I haven't heard about it much lately.
It's crazy to be opposed to bombings. Just ask John "Maverick" McCain
