Is Obama Incompetent or Dishonest? Survey says…

Writing at Hot Air, Ed Morrissey notes that recent polls indicate that Americans are still giving President Obama the benefit of the doubt. Which is to say that they think he's incompetent rather than dishonest.
Morrissey links to a Quinnipiac Poll which finds trust in government and its main players is well below toilet-level and now in the septic tank:
A total of 68 percent of American voters are "somewhat dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied" with the way things are going in the nation today, while 32 percent are "very satisfied" or "somewhat satisfied."
Voters also have negative opinions of political parties:
47 – 42 percent unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party;
50 – 35 percent unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party;
38 – 28 percent unfavorable opinion of the Tea Party.
Only 3 percent of voters trust the federal government to do the right thing almost all the time, while 12 percent say they trust it most of the time; 47 percent say some of the time and 36 percent hardly ever.
And Instapundit points to a recent Pew survey (figured on right), that finds President Obama as much less honest but just as incompetent than George W. Bush. Given that Bush was worse than Hitler, that's saying something.

"Is Obama Incompetent or Dishonest?"
Yes.
Obama is clearly an evil bastard. We are fortunately that he is also totally fucking incompetent.
Not mutually exclusive, as they say.
He's whatever House Republicans force him to be.
As long as they don't obstruct him from being that too.
Only because it's BOOSH's fault.
It's really just a messaging problem.
Is Obama Incompetent or dishonest?
Yes to both.
It's not an either/or condition.
i vote for tedious. I expect all pols are incompetent and dishonest. BHO sets the bar pretty high for tedium.
Of course, like everyone else is going to say in this thread, it's both. It's stunning that anyone not named Obama supports him, even superficially.
They can be mutually exclusive if you're a TEAM player.
"He had to lie to protect us though!"
"He's not dishonest, he's just terrible at doing basic things like reading."
etc.
Of course, such willful ignorance is definitely not in short supply now adays.
"It's stunning that anyone not named Obama supports him, even superficially."
Nope. There's a lot of folks enjoying money and/or power as a result of him being there. That shitpile Holder wouldn't have a decent job if it weren't for Obozo's coattails.
The comeuppance for us all is, um, comeupping.
It's stupid and shortsighted to arm the system for tyranny, because a true tyrant will arise. In some ways, it's already happened. Only the inertia of a formerly freeish society protects us now. Nothing else.
Only the inertia of a formerly freeish society protects us now. Nothing else.
If that's true, it gives me hope, cause the past 110 years have been anything but "freeish."
Not bad considering everything but the past 250 years (with few exceptions) has been pretty much slavery.
It's all relative, of course.
Is Obama Incompetent or Dishonest?
Ha! Trick question.
This is a racist question, Obama can be Incompetent and Dishonest just like any white man.
However, he has to work twice as hard at it.
And he is. He really is.
and get less pay.
Americans are still giving [Obama] the benefit of the doubt.
"The doubt" meaning "their willful ignorance of his actions".
It's hard to say what's more disturbing, that a huge percentage of the people have no clue of what he's doing, or that a huge percentage of the people fully approve of what he's doing.
More and more I'm concluding that our country is in the state it's in because we deserve it.
They just don't know what opinions they are supposed to have since Jon Stewart has been out.
What percentage answered cunt?
Cunctator?
Hey!!! That's uncalled for.
They'll finger it out later.
"Socialist" is a neutral term?
10 people said he's the President. Well done.
No dangerous or murderer. I'm disappointed.
Not even a hamburglar!? This survey pisses me off more than any of the others because it shows America's utter lack of imagination.
I thought it was a racist term?
"Socialist" is a neutral term?
Well, some people think it's good and others think it's bad. So on average it probably is.
So, I'm not the brightest bulb in the house, but I'm not really clear what this means:
"Voters also have negative opinions of political parties:
47 ? 42 percent unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party;
50 ? 35 percent unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party;
38 ? 28 percent unfavorable opinion of the Tea Party."
Is it "between 42 & 47 percent have an unfavorable opinion" or is it 47 favorable 42 unfavorable. Or something else entirely?
47 unfavorable, 42 favorable
Ah, thank you.
To me the defining moment of the Obama Presidency is Bengazi. A US ambassador is thought to be dying in an attack and they didn't even invite Obama to the meetings. Not even Carter was that out of touch. His own people don't seem to care what Obama thinks or see the need to involve him in any decisions. And Obama seems fine with that. Worse still, I can't really blame either side. It is not like Obama knows anything or brings anything to the table. So why would you call him in an emergency? And from his perspective, it must be very frustrating to be in a job that you don't understand and doing with even the smallest competence is beyond your abilities. So, he understandably doesn't want to be called.
He is President Chauncey Gardner.
Don't smear Chance by associating his name with Obama's.
He likes to watch.
I do think it's abundantly clear (it really was never that secret) that he's just a machine front, not anything of substance himself. And, on top of that, he's incompetent and corrupt.
Obama is pure, Chicago-machine, political corruption with a fancy veneer.
Yeppers. Amazes me so many of us are going along with this nonsense. It can't end well. Heck, I think the odds of him remaining in office through his second term are iffy.
How many generations have lived with the bullshit in Chicago?
I worry that Obama is not an exception, but the rule going forward.
He will be if he gets away with it, which he seems to be doing.
Our only hope is that the Wookie pulls his arms out for some indiscretion before the end of his term.
It would be ironic if the one thing that does him in after all of his sins is being on the down low with Reggie Love.
puh-leaze. he's slaying interns left and right. the first lady knows all those Euro shopping sprees and Oprah chats will stop if she goes public.
That's why this administration needs to be punished and punished severely for any wrongdoing that is uncovered. Not so much for the current jokers but for the future. They can go after previous administrations, too, for all I care, because the shit didn't start a mere four and a half years ago.
What amazes me is that he was so obviously that from the very beginning, yet so many "Top Men" convinced themselves he wasn't. All of the things the real knuckle dragging right said about him turned out to be true. Meanwhile, the beltway reasonable right were the ones who turned out to be complete dupes.
The day Obama was elected, I told one of my friends the following:
'People are acting like they just elected the second coming of Jesus Christ when actually they elected the second coming of Jimmy Carter. At least they got the initials right.'
Under Carter we had terrible economic outcomes, an incompetent foreign policy and unrest in the Middle East. Under Obama we have terrible economic outcomes, an incompetent foreign policy and unrest in the Middle East.
I am either a psychic or 19 year old Irish was much more savvy than the majority of 'beltway insiders.'
But his pants were perfectly creased. And he went to Harvard. He was one of them. How could he be anything but dreamy?
Man, I forgot about that. Not only was he going to be president, he was going to be a great president because of the way his pants were creased. Was that David Brooks?
Or maybe they were in on it.
These are the same people that have been telling grassroot conservatives that PRISM is no big deal, and a good thing and anyway Snowden is a traitor for revealing what everyone already knew was happening.
Nah people like Brooks and WFB's idiot son are just really that stupid.
He is like Phillip Green in Casino; the front man who doesn't know much and is just dumb enough to think they gave him all that money because they thought he was smart.
Plus, he became the nexus for the "anybody but Clinton" group inside the Democrats. That was what surprised me about 2008: how much anti-Clinton animosity there was inside the party.
The funny part about that was they hated Clinton because he sold out the hard left on welfare and such. So, they backed Obama only to see him sell them out on pretty much everything else.
They hated Clinton more for Bill being such a narcissist, which is even more ironic.
The left doesn't really hate Bill Clinton, mostly they were royally pissed that his disgusting personal behavior cost Al Gore the next election.
I don't think Clinton cost Gore the election. If anything not embracing Clinton enough cost him.
Once we get rid of the thinking machines, the path will be clear for the Kwisatz Haderach (seriously Chrome, that's not in your fucking word DB?)
A little lunchtime music.
His own people don't seem to care what Obama thinks or see the need to involve him in any decisions.
He's more of a big picture guy.
Funny, I had a boss like that once - a VP at a Big Bank. We didn't even bother going to him when there was a problem because we ended up expending too much time/energy explaining it to him, and getting nothing in the way of assistance.
When I read the headline, I heard Edna Mode from the Incredibles stuttering "Is... Is... this a question?"
What each American needs right now is a visit from Edna Mode. Who, incidentally, is perhaps the best supporting character in superhero movie history.
"..trust in government and its main players is well below toilet-level and now in the septic tank.."
Nice analogy. The only difference being that my septic tank actually gets cleaned out once in a while.
I think those that claim Obama is incompetent are making kind of a category error. Like a lot of Chicago politics Obama was simply a vehicle to win power. And he has been a good vehicle for that. He's been extremely competent in beating out Hilary, then McCain, then Romney, all while having very little to base his runs on. He and his handlers don't think much about competence in the sense of running the nation well and accomplishing things, they think in terms of winning the next one. In fact, passing bills and solving problems has often been sacrificed by his administration in order to accomplish some political goal.
Indeed. In the same vein, if your goal is to funnel half a billion dollars to your cronies, then Solyndra was a smashing success.
Well said.
Ok, troll, I completely agree. I don't know what that says about me.
Obama is BOTH Incompetent AND Dishonest AND Evil. The whole premise of his presidency has been built on a series of carefully orchestrated lies........from the very beginning. He cannot be removed from office soon enough. Egypt's Morsi style would be good.
YES!!!!
America. You elected people who would let you do any evil thing your heart imagines without restraint. Now they are doing every evil thing their heart imagines without restraint.

Have to wonder who was being polled. I don't have much faith in Quinnipiac polls.
