Judge Gives Mental Hospital Six More Weeks to Evaluate James Holmes
Won't delay the trial of the accused Aurora shooter, he says
Doctors will have an extra month and a half to evaluate Aurora theater shooting suspect James Holmes' sanity, but the judge overseeing Holmes' murder case said Tuesday the extension won't delay the trial.
Meanwhile, Judge Carlos Samour said he planned to summon a massive pool of prospective jurors for the trial. Samour said he planned to have the court issue 5,000 summonses to possible jurors with the hope that 3,200 will show up to court.
