GOP Senators That Dined With Obama in March Complaining About Lack of Follow-Through

Deficit negotiations going nowhere

Senate Republicans who shared laughs with President Obama over dinner at the Jefferson Hotel in March are grumbling there has since been little follow-through from him on deficit talks.

They say the White House has not set up a process for negotiating controversial reforms to Social Security, healthcare programs and the tax code, and that absence of basic organization has stalled negotiations.

"We've made no progress. None," said a GOP senator who had dinner with President Obama earlier this year. "There's no process in place. Right now we just have 20 Republican senators meeting and talking to themselves."

I am not surprised. Obama takes the typical statist view, that merely passing a law changes reality, to extremes and acts as if merely saying something will transform reality. Thus, no follow-through. I expect politicians who have never held a real job to not understand what implementation means or requires, but not Obama's level of ignorance.

Spoiled brat, brought up by the Chicago machine to think a snap of the fingers does something, but the machine forgot to teach him that his minions need to actually do something. Like a Hogwarts student who thought food appearing as if by magic were just a wave of the wand instead of magical house elves toiling away, unseen.
