Shikha Dalmia in the Washington Examiner on Whether Liberals Will Swallow Obama's Crocodile Tears Over the Drone Program
President Barack Obama spent a good part of a nice Thursday afternoon crying crocodile tears over the civilian casualties caused by drone strikes. These casualties, he said, will "haunt the U.S." But what about him, asks Reason Foundation Senior Analyst Shikha Dalmia in the Washington Examiner? Will they haunt him given that he has ordered more such strikes and killed more such civilians than his predecessor?
She notes:
If former Vice President Dick Cheney had authored the drone program, liberals would demand his indictment as a war criminal. But Obama has made it the defining feature of his war on terrorism and they remain silent.
When Bush departed from bedrock conservative principles and started spending like a drunken sailor, he triggered a revolt that ultimately culminated in the Tea Party movement. It remains to be seen if liberals will hold Obama similarly accountable.

Don't ever take sides with anyone against the family. Ever.
And it will never happen, not ever.
don't hold your breath.
don't hold your breath.
Now I am required by my contrarian ways to hold my breath. Damn damn damn. If only it were opposite Tuesday.
the president has used what are called "signature strikes" against anyone who "signs up" for al Qaeda
May we see "copies" of the "enlistment forms"?
Yeah, do they take an oath and stuff or what?
From what I remember, the commanders did have to swear fealty to "Sheik" bin Laden. I don't know about the rank and file, nor do I know how it works post-bin Laden
You can tell by their uniforms, duh.
And, we are supposed to kill every member of AQ?
Are we going to start blowing up every dumbass in Idaho who swears allegiance to Hitler?
Whether Liberals Will Swallow Obama's Crocodile Tears
They've spent the last five years swallowing far worse, on His behalf.
You're referring to cock and jizz, right? Just checkin'.
"It remains to be seen if liberals will hold Obama similarly accountable."
They won't, but neither did the tea party. First big protest April 1, 2009 if I remember correctly. Bush most definitely out of office by then. So I look forward to liberal protests of the warmongering, starting as soon as Repub's retake the WH.
One thing I don't get about the animosity toward the Tea Party - some of their biggest victories were in the primaries where they drove out moderate Republicans and replaced them with those extremists that nobody would ever vote for. So why isn't the Left actively supporting the Tea Party to elect more of those whacko extremists like Rand Paul and get rid of the moderates like Lindsey Graham? Since nobody seriously supports making government smaller, why isn't the Left helping the Tea Party to marginalize the GOP?
It's almost like the national GOP is part of the progressive agenda, or something.
The "tea party" didn't even exist until February 2009, when Rick Santelli had his awesome rant on the CME floor. The roots were put down well before that, including during Bush's term with movements like Porkbusters and heavy criticism of Bush's domestic spending policies on conservative sites like Hot Air. You don't get approval ratings as low as Bush did without upsetting your own supporters.
Yes. Tell that to our dipshit "Sevo".

"Yes. Tell that to our dipshit "Sevo"."
You lying sack of shit, show me where I claimed otherwise or go suck your daddy's cock.
That's absolute nonsense. You just never noticed it until it had been commandeered by the GOP. I went to meetings right here where I live at least back prior to the 2006 mid-term in which we were trying to put our man, a libertarian sheriff into office. Unfortunately we lost only by a few hundred votes. The new sheriff was wise enough to pay attention to that fact.
It took awhile for any "big" protests to take place. Nonetheless, I personally attended local a number of local meeting while Bush was very much in office. Not 2009, but before 2006. Here it was an almost entirely libertarian movement. More than a few attending were disillusioned conservatives and Liberals. Of the conservatives were individuals who had all they could take of Bush.
They won't, but neither did the tea party.
Tu quoque is not an argument and two wrongs don't make a right. Also, red herring.
In sum: SO FUCKING WHAT?
Of course they'll believe Obama. Again. He's "one of them", and the best of them.
They can barely see him through the tears of awe and wonder.
It's really HIM!
It's so bright! It's...
Just...
poets.
They should've sent poets...
He is Jesus Christ, you know.
Will liberals swallow? Conservatives spit... liberals definitely swallow. Don't know about libertarians... A little help, Nikki, if you are here?
Libertarians just take it in the face. When you only get it in one eye we call that "getting a monocle."
Hugh's right. And a lady always loves a pearl necklace.
OT: Alice Walker is a fan of David Icke.
I was just reading about Alice Walker. Courtesy of her daughter, Rebecca. How my mother's fanatical views tore us apart. It is, as you might expect, not a glowing recollection of her mother (at least insofar as motherhood and child-bearing go).
Well, Ms. Walker has always been outspoken about the JOOZ, so it's nice to see her come out of the Lizard People closet.
I've passed Walker's house in Berkeley dozens of times. She may be the only black person in that extremely nice neighborhood. Cars I've recently seen in the general vicinity: a Fisker Karma, a Tesla Model S, and a Bentley.
Well, I hope that none of those nice cars use any sort of Israeli developed technology. Wouldn't want Walker to be outed as a hypocrite as well!
Are those the same Lizard People who hail from Zeta Reticuli?
I'd never heard of that whacko, and as a reader of "High Weirdness by Mail", I thought I'd heard of them all.
Russell Brand had him on his FX TV show.
He was really impressed that Icke "really believed this."

The Tea Party assembled in Feb 2009 to protest eight years of Bush??????????
Sure they did.
From Wikipedia:
So yeah, dumbfuck, it was a protest against GWB governance (specifically TARP).
Notice that dipshit immediately miscasts the comment, thereby identifying that oh, so valuable strawman:
"The Tea Party assembled in Feb 2009 to protest eight years of Bush??????"
Hey, you lying sack of shit, did you find anything that claimed the protest was aimed at all eight years, or did you merely add that?
Where were these "small gov" assholes when NCLB, the Patriot Spy Act, Medicare Welfare Drug Act, the Iraq boondoggle, DHS/TSA, $5B for AIDS in Africa, home downpayments for the poor, and FISA snooping was taking place?

Watch out down the road there! Goal posts coming your way at high speed!
Lying sack of shit...
That's bullshit. Rick Santelli supposedly issued the clarion call for the Tea Party on CNBC back then and he said he did so to protest mortgage modifications (HAMP) in the ARRA.
The Tea Party was a group of conservatives angry that the country kicked the (R) out on his ass.
Big Gov Dumbya was their fucking hero.

That's the idea, dipshit! When you get called on your bullshit, wave your arms in the air and make assertions!
Go fuck your daddy.
On November 4, 2010, the Tea Party Patriots organization confirmed in an email to their members that Santelli's comments started the Tea Party movement:
Tea Party Patriots wishes to extend a special thank you to Rick Santelli for his rant on February 19, 2009, which started this entire movement. Without Rick's rant, this movement would never have started. Many others will try to take credit but don't be fooled. He was the spark that began this fire.

FUCK you're stupid.
Get down, bitch.
That was a full quote.

"Get down, bitch."
No, dipshit, read up-thread.
What a moron...
Tea Party Patriots is but one organization of a decentralized movement.
No one group constitutes "the tea party."
Nothing would please me more than for so called "Liberals" to show they're something more than blatantly hypocritical, partisan hacks who don't give a flying eff what their man does, because, well he's theirs.
But, if past performance is any kind of example of what can be expected now, or in the future, it's doubtful their reaction will give much cause to be pleased.
OT: I don't mean to be watching HLN, but I've just been seeing where the Jodi Arias jury announced a mistrial during the penalty phase.
Surprise, surprise, Nancy Grace is faulting some of the jury members, whom she believes were not entirely honest about their opinion of the death penalty.
Geez, does this women have some innate need to see criminal defendents die?
They give her a percentage of the blood and entrails,
I want my old CNN Headline News back. Back in my precocious pre-teen years, I used to park my rear-end in front of the TV for 30 minutes, and I'd have a near solid, unbiased take on the day's top news.
Now, instead of being the most condensed and reliable news, it now provides the most protracted, soft news stories of the day.
This is what happens when Anderson Cooper is the key correspondent
I used to miss Maricopa County. It's an illness from which I've fully recovered.
Is that where this is taking place?!

Boys and girls, some days life is most excellent.
I went fishing for three hours this afternoon. Didn't see another soul. I caught 17 trout, all of which were in the 12-16 inch range, all on a dry fly, to include a trifecta of brown, rainbow and brook trout. The afternoon was topped off with two icy cold Coronas.
Life is good!
You had me until Corona
Ahhh. Nothing better than Pedro's Piss when you're thirsty. Light and refreshing.
I've never understood the hate directed towards Corona - Yeah its pretty lightweight when compared to "real" beers but, its really a laborer's beer - its *supposed* to be light and refreshing, not to get you blasted after the first bottle.
Or provide you several days worth of carbs ala Guinness.
I can't drink heavy beers when it's hot. I think a lot of Mexican beers are underrated. Modelo, Dos Equis, Pacifico... All great when it's hot.
I'm as snobby as anyone about beer, but I like Corona. I spike it with tequila.
Stange sentence from the NYTimes report:
"A new classified policy guidance signed by Mr. Obama will sharply curtail the instances when unmanned aircraft can be used to attack in places that are not overt war zones, countries like Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia."
A. Will the NYTimes now suffer 20 wiretaps, like AP, for disclosing "classified" information. Not likely. Obama friendly.
B. Since when were Yemen and Somalia declared overt "war zones" by Congress? Answer: Never.
Conveniently the battlefield is the world.
It remains to be seen if liberals will hold Obama similarly accountable.
They will behave just like the Tea Party. They will wait for the opposing party to win, and then they will blame that guy for being a monster, when he's just continuing along his predecessor's path.
