Government being blamed

|

Internet access in Syria apparently was cut off on Tuesday, with speculation suggesting that it was shut down by the Syrian government.

Web monitoring companies such as The Ripe NCC and Akamai have revealed that internet services in the country appear to have completely stopped on Tuesday, with data showing that web access blacked out at around 18:45 UTC. Google is showing that none of its services are available in Syria, and it is also being reported that landline and mobile phone services are down in the country.
