Obama Preparing To Supply Syrian Rebels With Weapons

Expected to make a decision within weeks

WASHINGTON, May 1 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama is close to deciding to give military aid to Syrian rebels and likely will make a final decision within weeks, senior officials said.

"We're clearly on an upward trajectory," one of the administration officials told The Washington Post. "We've moved over to assistance that has a direct military purpose."
