Los Angeles City Council Mulls Gun Controls
Think the gang members will show up to argue against it?
The Los Angeles City Council's Public Safety Committee is expected to consider two proposed gun control measures today. Committee members will get an update from the City Attorney's office on a proposed law banning possession of large-capacity ammunition clips.
The sale and transfer of the clips is a crime in California, but people can still legally own them. The proposed law would declare the clips a public nuisance and allow police to confiscate them.
Councilman Paul Krekorian first proposed the law in February, following the Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting last December. A gunman wielding a high-capacity assault weapon killed 26 people, most of them children. Gun rights lawyers said in February that they would sue the city if such a law were approved.

Nope. No slippery slope here. Just be reasonable and pass this one little ban.
