Out-Of-Control Cops Recorded Busting Hiker for Non-Existent Firearms Offense
Fascinating record of official stupidity
I just got off the phone with Army Master Sergeant C. J. Grisham, a serving American soldier and veteran of the the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, who recently was illegally disarmed by the Temple Police Department while out for a walk with his son.
"We live out in the country in Texas, near Temple," he told me. "My son and I were on a ten-mile hike so that he could earn his hiking merit badge – it's the last badge he needs to become an Eagle Scout." But half way into the hike, Grisham said, "a police officer pulled up." Initially, he was "cordial" and he "asked what we were doing." Grisham told him. "Then he looked at my rifle. I carry a rifle any time I walk around because there are feral hogs and cougars and things like that."
From here, things took a turn for the worse.
"'Where you going with that rifle?' he asked me. I said, 'does it matter? Am I breaking any laws?'" Then, he says, the officer "grabbed the rifle without telling me – but it was attached to me. My immediate reaction as a combat veteran was to grab it back and then take a step back. I asked him what he was doing. So he pulled his gun on me.

He messed with Texas.
Lol resisting catch all charge from the police state of assholes. This could have been worse he could have been black.
In a just world the officer would be charged with attempted theft of a firearm, assault and abuse of an official position.
This is not a just world.
Like most stories, there are two sides. You might want to take a look at this before you make up you mind about this one.
Google warns me that that's a reported attack page. Got another source somewhere?
And by google I meant firefox.
There is (for some reason I don't understand) a whole sub-genre of blogs with ex-military sojah boys bitchslapping each other in virtual print. This is just another one of them, and doesn't qualify as a reason for the cops to be the thug booted jack-holes they are in the video. I'll believe my own eyes viewing an out-of-context video before a pissy ex-special forces guy whining on the web anyday.
Zair, Just checked and the page is up. The page had been hacked and some malicious code installed. Michael took it down and had it scoured. He told me this morning that the page is clean but some browsers may still be showing the google warning. I'm using IE9 and having no issues.
Rod Flash, not disputing the cops may have been acting improperly but we don't know what transpired before the video started rolling. Given his history I'm a little suspicious that things went down exactly as he was claiming on the video.
SGT Grisham may have been treated unfairly and unconstitutionally, but his also a douche (not that that excuses the police). This is clearly not the best way to stand up for your 2nd Amendment Rights.
FWIW, If his son has been traumatized by the incident (see the original National Review link), he is a pussy.
