A sprig of cilantro? Yuck.

Many years ago I swung through the drive thru at Mcdonalds and picked up an ice cream cone. As I drove down the road I ate the cone down to the base of the cup. If you are familiar with ice cream cones then you know this is the most delicious part. The ice cream is partly melted with a nice frozen center and the cone is partly soft but with some crunch still left in it.

I popped the whole thing into my mouth. Yum. Then suddenly, not Yum. Something tasted very much not like ice cream, so I spit it out into a napkin.

There , in the center of my partially chewed cone and ice cream, was a partially chewed cockroach. The taste of that critter was exactly the taste of cilantro.

All these decades later I can neither eat cilantro, nor eat anything from Mcdonalds.
