NH Bill Would Decriminalize Marijuana

But the governor is no fan

New Hampshire is considering joining its neighbors in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island by decriminalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana, but the proposal faces an uphill battle in both houses of the Legislature.

The House will vote this week on a bill to decriminalize the possession of up to an ounce of marijuana. Under the bill, possession of less than an ounce could be fined up to $100 and those under 18 could be required to attend drug rehabilitation classes.
