Judge Suspends Tolls at Crescent City Connection in Lousiana, Orders Revote on Toll Extension Issue

Voters approved extending tolls for 20 years by a 36 vote margin, but provisional ballots did not include the local races

On Wednesday morning, commuters from the West Bank did not have to pull out a dollar to get across the river.

Drivers were advised to not stop and travel at 25 MPH as they passed straight through the Cresent City Connection toll plaza.

A state judge, William Morvant, suspended the tolls after the result ofNovember's vote to extend the tolls for another 20 years was thrown out.
