Libertarians Challenge Kansas City Open-Carry Ban
Say new gun law violates constitution
Kansas' Libertarian Party challenged the constitutionality of a Kansas City ordinance banning the open carrying of firearms.
The party sued the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kan., in Wyandotte County Court.
It claims the law violates the 2nd Amendment and the Kansas Constitution. It also claims the law would create a hodge-podge of local regulations that will make compliance in the Kansas City area impossible.
