A Saudi court has sentenced Egyptian designer Nagla Wafa to five years in prison and 500 lashes for fraud. Wafa was accused by a Saudi princess of cashing a check from a joint business venture but not following through on a promise to start a restaurant together.

The Queen Mum died years ago, dude. It's a common misconception that the phrase refers to QE2, but it's actually her mother. The title is reserved for a dowager consort, I believe.

I believe you mean Queen Dowager.

QE2 is a Queen Regnant. When George VI was alive, QE2's mom (the Queen Mother) was a Queen Consort. (Why Philip isn't a King Consort but a Prince Consort is something I don't know.) After George's death, the Queen Consort became a Queen Dowager. At least, I think that's how the nomenclature works.

My guess as to king/prince is that "king" probably implies regency in a way that "queen" and "prince" don't. Of course, both of those latter two could be regnant titles as well as non-regnant (as in a female monarch or the ruler of a principality), so the clarification is added there.

that is correct Ted. Husbands of Queens regnant don't get the title of King (not since Philip II of Spain married Mary I, and he really only got it pursuant to Queen Mary's Marriage Act). The spouses of all subsequent married queens regnant (barring Mary II) have held their own title of prince or been granted one. Prince Consort was invented for Albert and granted by Act of Parliament rather grudgingly
