If You Need Another Reason to Be Glad that EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson is Resigning
Here's one. The folks over at the Renewable Fuels Association are praising Administrator Jackson for all the good work she did for their industry:
Statement by Bob Dinneen, President and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), on the announced resignation of EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson:
"Administrator Jackson put into action the Obama Administration's commitment to ethanol and other biofuels. During her tenure, she cleared the way for E15 giving consumers more choice and savings at the gas pump and she protected the progress that has been made in reducing our dependence of foreign oil by recognizing the importance and inherent flexibility of the RFS. The ethanol industry thanks her for her service and looks forward to working with her successor to continue the growth of America's domestic renewable fuels industry."

She's a bit of a "chunky monkey"....John....any interest here?
Ethanol is a fucking scurge.
Don't blame me, I voted for Arnie Vinick.
"she cleared the way for E15 giving consumers more choice and savings at the gas pump"
Yes, Mr. Smith, Up does equal Down.
Don't let the doorknob hit you on the asshole...
Any time an "industry spokesman" praises a politician in charge of regulating the industry, you can be sure they are both corrupt.
Ethanol is fucking crap. Let's all pour oil into the ground to turn food into fuel! Most non-industry analysis of it has concluded that it uses more oil than it produces. This woman deserves to be gone.
IIRC, she was the same one involved in the EPA rules on establishing containment systems for oil spills on farms that drew so much outrage because milk - due to its' oil content - was categorized in the same way. She first said that it was silly to think the EPA would apply the rules on oil spills to milk and then had to be pressured into issuing an exemption to the rules for milk while specifically asserting that the EPA does have the authority to apply the rules to milk. Sort of a 'we didn't do anything wrong and we promise not to do it again but we have the right to do it if we want to'.

Well at least the rent-seekers were courteous enough to pay their respects to a good corporatist.
Pretty sure who is going to be signing her next paycheck also.
Bob Dinneen. sounds like a made up name. probably one of her aliases. when does she go to jail?
But, but, but ethanol feels good! It's money that doesn't go to the evil oil companies! It's not funding terrorists! It's going to farmers! American farmers! It's all domestic! Domestic energy! Mandated by us! The government! It's a government of, by, and for the people, right? That's us! We are government and we made this happen! Doesn't it feel good?
Also, since it varnishes carburetors in the space of a month, it helps the economy be forcing people to buy fuel stabilizers and rebuild kits!
Broken windows FTW!
What's to be glad about? Does anyone have even the slightest doubt that Obama can find someone even more worthless to replace the last one, who will do basically the exact same things?
The job only has one duty, which any moron could be trained to do. The job requirement should read:
Must be able to solicit lots of crony dollars from highest bidder and then implement crushing regulation to put all of top donors competition out of business.
That's why "throw the bums out" never works. It's not the person in the job that necessarily sucks, it's the kind of person who seeks the job that is the problem.
Almost there, sarc.
Its not the kind of person who seeks the job that is the problem.
Its that the job exists at all.
I just meant power in general. Seeking it is the surest sign of being ill-suited for it.
"Worthless" would be an improvement over "Actively destructive."
At least there was no federal solar feed-in tariff implemented.
OT, does anyone else have a startling urge to send lots of money to Bad Idea T-Shirts for some reason?
She's hot, but not "worth going to jail for" hot.
I'd have to reserve judgment on that one, depending whether she's a good, uhm, conversationalist.
Viruosa skin flautist?
Who said anything about going to jail? Her cleavage looks at least 18.
she cleared the way for E15 giving consumers more choice and savings at the gas pump
Oh, really.
Yes, really. If not for the heroic actions of the EPA, gas would have been $9 a gallon by now.
Given the damage to an entire nation's automobile engines, you'd really have to hate the environment to increase the amount of ethanol in gas.
Ironic that your run-of-the-mill environmentalist will accuse a libertarian of not caring about the environment when we mention abolishing the EPA, yet the EPA's own administrator clearly cares more for cash (a bazillion dollars says she's a high paid ethanol lobbyist within 6 months) than protecting the environment.
And note that she is waiting until "after the President's State of the Union address" to leave. Talk about begging for praise at that media event! I guess it will make her more saleable for whatever lobbying gig she's seeking.
"Let me be clear. Lisa Jackson will still have an open door to my office."
And unlike Hilary, Michele won't have to worry about it...
