Michigan Gov. Signs Right-to-Work Law
Just hours after passing through legislature and in the midst of union protests
LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has signed right-to-work legislation, dealing a devastating and once-unthinkable defeat to organized labor in a state that has been a cradle of the movement for generations.
He put his signatures on the bills Tuesday, hours after the state House passed the measures as the chants of thousands of angry pro-union protesters filled the Capitol.

A bit off-topic but Steven Crowder got a taste of union protests

OK, let's see if the squirrels let it go through this time:
No alt text on that sleazy propagandist claiming it's 'for the patients'?
"encouraging workers to "freeload" by withholding money unions need to bargain effectively."
How much money does a union need to "bargain effectively"?
These rich middle class workers aren't paying their fair share! TAX THEM!!!
Those goons and thugs don't come cheap! Some unions have to pay up to $100 per busted head in a negotiation.
OT, but related:
"One of the multitude of have-nots: An elderly man spends the night sleeping on a concrete floor outside a building in Hefei, China. China's wealth gap has widened so much, it is now among the world's most unequal nations, with millions left behind by the economic boom."

This should be the poster-child for the lie that prosperity is worse under more liberal economic policies.
Yes, the guy is 'less equal' compared to many who have prospered more. He's also not fucking starving as he would have been under Mao.
There's little doubt that the Chi-coms continue to restrict the freedoms of the Chinese and their ability to prosper, but there should be zero doubt that liberalizing the economic policies has saved millions from starvation, even if they remain 'unequal' to others.
In the pre-boom years that old guy wouldnt have been sleeping on a concrete floor. He would have been sleeping on a dirt one.
Millions left behind. Just think about that.
The complaint is that millions have moved forward? Where is T o n y to tell us that it better to have everyone impoverished than for even one person to rise above it?
Pre-boom he would have been licking opium poppies to keep his failing body moving so he can continue to carry sacks twice his weight from the boat to the loading dock, every day, all day, until he fell over dead.
"China's wealth gap has widened so much, it is now among the world's most unequal nations"
Uh huh. The nation with a storied history of abandoning burdensome female infants into ramshackle orphanages, running over protesters with tanks and manmade famines done Communist style is only NOW becoming "unequal" because some of the general populace have personal wealth, instead of the good old days when everyone starved and languished together as one harmonious, impoverished collectivized unit.
I fucking hate the Left Wing.
REALLY OT, but it must be so 'shitheaded' now that it isn't worth comment:
The Nobel "Peace Prize" award.
"Hailing the European Union as "the most dramatic example in history that shows that war and conflict can be turned into peace and cooperation," Nobel committee chairman Thorborn Jagland presented the Nobel Peace Prize to top EU officials at a ceremony Monday in Oslo."

It's quite clear that dogs have no shame; you can dress them in all sorts of ridiculous costumes and they'll still lick your hand hoping for some free treat. And these are the same idiots who handed the same embarrassment to our liar-in-chief.
So can we presume they'll wear lampshades as hats as they dance around offering each other some award or other? Hoping for some dough from someone dumb enough to hand it to them?
So is your argument that Europe off was better off in the pre-EU years?
Or that turning a continent at war with itself for centuries into a peaceful union doesn't quite jump the Nobel hurdle?
Nobel hurdle? You do make me laugh T o n y.
Nobel peace prizes are bullshit awards handed out by socialist academics to anyone who confirms their anticapitalist agenda.
American armed forces turned Europe into a peaceful zone in WW2 and the Cold War (NATO). Not some f*ing bureaucrats - they merely stepped in front of the parade when it was safe to do so. And are now giving themselves credit for being peacemakers. Disgusting.
CRUSH THE UNIONS!! YEEEAAAAHHH!!
No, seriously though, this is a major victory for business.
Merry Christmas 2012
Union dues are usually deducted from the paycheck.
So?.the worker pays the union even before feeding and clothing their own kids. If there's a tight month, and the kid needs a new coat, the kid goes without. But, the union gets theirs, no matter what.
You union people ought to be ashamed of yourselves. You value your union more than you do your own family.
Why don't you grow a pair, and pay your union dues just like you pay any other bill? Or do you just allow your union to continue to punk and thug you?
Taxes are also extracted before you get to take the cash home. The govt has the threat of force....just like the union. Thugs.
I notice in the photo that the protesters are all in red.
Fashion statement?
Or communism.
I love the tape over the mouths.
NeoLiberals, shamelessly stealing the tactics of the religious anti-abortion protesters they love to hate so much.
