MT GOP Upset Over Libertarian Candidate's Role

The Republican lost and the Libertarian drew a lot of votes

U.S. Senate Libertarian candidate Dan Cox will tell you that it was never his intention to be a spoiler in one of the most closely watched races in the nation.

He equally disliked both of his opponents' records.

But the nearly 30,000 votes Cox garnered in Tuesday's general election were 10,000 more than the difference between Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Tester and his Republican challenger, Rep. Denny Rehberg.

Montana Republican Party officials say those votes were the difference in the election, and they are challenging some last-minute advertisements.

As one of the "spoiler" voters, I do not regret my vote for Cox. Rehberg didn't deserve my vote. He wouldn't have received my vote. I wouldn't have voted. The policies of Rehberg, the Montana Republicans and the National GOP are out of touch. The disrespect for civil liberties with their support of the Patriot Act, NDAA, and HR347 are abhorrent. Their voting record on issues such as abortion, gay marriage, religious freedom, and the drug war are deplorable. The Libertarian candidates in this state were consistent with where I want to see this country go. I want to vote for the future, not for the past. The Montana GOP misguidedly believes that I'm a sheeple and that I'm supposed to vote for whatever candidate they put in front of me. That's not the way this works. The GOP candidates needed to EARN my vote. Rehberg didn't do his job nor did the Montana GOP. My vote cannot be bought nor can it be coerced. WORK FOR IT!!!!
