GOP Regains Control of Wisconsin Senate
Governor Walker's revenge, in a year otherwise not-so-friendly to Republicans
MADISON — If all politics truly is local, Wisconsin Republicans claimed a big victory in Tuesday's election even as they suffered major setbacks on the national stage.
The GOP appears to have taken control of the state Senate, putting Republicans, again, in control of the Legislature and the governor's mansion — and, arguably, the legislative agenda once more.
