For those wondering why Monday's foreign policy debate kept drifting back to domestic issues, a small clue might be found in the day's promoted Twitter trend.

The trend, #CantAfford4More, was purchased by the Romney campaign in an effort to influence the debate night dialogue on Twitter. Being that promoted trends are sold by the day, the Romney campaign's move ensured it would keep its message at the top of Twitter's trend list throughout the debate.
