Film Claiming Obama's Mother Did Porn Allegedly Being Mailed to Swing Voters

More than a million voters in swing states are being sent an anti-Obama documentary that claims the President's mother once posed for pornographic photos wearing bondage gear.

The shocking - and totally unfounded - claims made in the DVD represent a new low in the election dirty tricks war today provoking fury among Democrats and likely to trigger outrage in the White House.

'Dreams From My Real Father', made by a right-wing film-maker who is a long-time critic of Obama,  includes images of a woman it claims is the President's mother Ann Dunham clad in leather gloves, boots and a corset posing seductively on a couch.

The film also alleges that Mr Obama's real father is left wing poet poet and Communist party activist Frank Marshall Davis, and that Ms Dunham's marriage was a 'sham' to cover this up.

Sometimes I think some of these right-wing activists putting out this stupid shit are secret Obama supporters. When this 'documentary' is revealed as a fabrication and Romney fails to disavow it it's going to blow up in his face big time because Romney's silence is going to be taken as an endorsement.

Well, I am not convinced it's stupid. A bit distasteful, OK. It may be that Obama's mother just happened to look *extremely* like another woman who appeared in fetish photos. And that Frank Marshall Davis was just a family friend who coincidentally dabbled in porn. And that Obama looks somewhat like Frank Marshall Davis, and a lot like Davis' other kids. Hmmmm... it could also explain some birth certificate issues....

Of course it could all be coincidences and seeing what some want to see, but it doesn't strike me as wildly improbable. As a conspiracy theory, I rate it as "Not bad." Two stars for sure, maybe a third star for causing thousands to stare at the face of a vintage nude model from 50 years ago.

As bad as this guy is, he's still not as bad as what Democrats already think about non-Obama supporters. They will look at this and say "Everyone who doesn't like Obama is evil and hates women." which is what they would be saying anyway.

For instance, Gilbert claims that Obama's mother posed for nude pictures in 1960...and then he shows pictures he took from 1958 magazines. He suggests that Frank Marshall Davis wrote about Ann Dunham in a memoir, and then omits the overwhelming context that shows he wasn't talking about her. He details private situations he couldn't possibly know about, he talks about evidence that doesn't appear in the film, and he repeats old internet rumors he clearly didn't bother to factcheck.

What's more, he's done all this twice before. Releasing a conspiracy theory movie that he advertises as a "documentary," claiming that he's discovered shocking new evidence, and then later on changing his tune and claiming that it's just a "spoof."

It should thus come as no surprise that when I actually tried to interview Mr. Gilbert about the CONTENT of his film, he refused to talk.

Although to be honest, the thought that the president is basically some sort of alternate reality Eric Cartman is... well, it explains a lot.
