Video Prank: iPhone 5s Dropped In Front of iPhone 5 Fanatics
What happens when an Apple employee drops boxes of the new iPhone 5, apparently damaging them, in front of hundreds of customers who have been waiting for days to buy one?
Do thy get irate at the bigmouthed handtruck-tipping klutz?
Do they offer to help out?
Do they look up from their earlier-gen iPhones?
Do they try to get an irregular discount?
None of the above. As Alex Goyette finds out in this prank, Apple users do what they do best: sit passively and wait to be told what to do.
The clip might have been better elaborated. A prank like this should probably include another actor playing the box dropper's supervisor. But it's pretty funny all the same:

I can't wait to hear from the iPhone users among the H+R commentariat.
You need to tell them what to say first.
Is there an app for that?
Hit unt Run commenters don't use iPhones, they use guyPhones.

Tim, you are such a fucking asshole.
People waiting hours in line for a phone looks pathetic to me.
People waiting hours in line for a phone any non-essential item looks pathetic to me.
FIFY
Hey Tim,
Here's a link to YouTube: http://www.YouTube.com
You should check it out. They got videos of cats playing piano. Can you believe it? I understand they even got a video that incited a million Muslims to get all blood thirsty and hating Merrkins. Take your time, watch a couple thousand of them, then you will have caught up with the rest of us that understand the difference between 'funny' and 'lame'.
Cats playing piano? Preposterous! Links please.
If Tim watches 1 Youtube video a day, he can get back to you about this in just a few years!

Hooray for the reddit-ification of Reason!
Drink!
This would never have happened when Virginia was here.
For a site called "Reason"....
iSheeple.
I have an iphone. I like my iphone. It works and does everything I want it to do without locking up, glitching or otherwise making me annoyed (contrary to my previous Blackberry Storm I).
Having said that, I'm not sure what you should expect the reaction to a prank like this to be? A riot where people tear the guy limb from limb? An offer to buy the "box" that fell off the pallet? Help for the idiot to cover up his mistake? Disgustion and walking away from a line they've been waiting in for days? As a prank, I'm mildly amused. As a cultural comment on iphone users (or even just people that wait in line for things), I'm puzzled as to the expected "normal" response.
Maybe I should have read the previous comment. Yes, it is a commentary on iPhone users- that they are more civil.
And oh, please forgive me for wanting a reliable operating system instead of the unpredictable Android.
So, what were they supposed to do? Turn into an angry mob? They're sheeple for acting like a civilized group?
Sorry, this prank failed.
No kidding. I didn't see any reason for someone to give up their place in line.
Yeah, I bet they just sat around and watched the cab driver fill his gas tank all by himself - didnt' even offer to wash his windshield. And the horror of their bemonocled arrogance as they sat idly by as the construction crew labored to repair the sidewalk! Not one of them even suggested that they could run the jack hammer and give the contracted worker a rest. Damn, they are selfish, lazy sheep!
