In CA, there's a tax bill on the ballot. It introduces variable sales tax rates determined by the purchase value, Which means at filing, I now need to track transactions by amount, and report the amount of tax collected for each transaction at the various thresholds (not sure how many, but it really doesn't matter).
Of course, such things really don't affect businesses, since CA is so wonderful, the businesses will stay here anyhow, right?
