School Reformers Say Chicago Teachers' Deal Is Too Generous
City is spending money it doesn't have
The Chicago Teachers Union isn't the only group griping about problems with the proposed new contract with Chicago Public Schools.
Though the CTU has garnered most of the headlines with complaints about how the proposed deal is overly harsh on teachers, some key education reform groups aren't exactly thrilled, either.
In their view, Mayor Rahm Emanuel's bargaining team gave up too much and should have pressed for more.
