In Maldives, where there were reportedly anti-American protests today as well, the government has banned dancing in public in a campaign to strengthen "Islamic values."

The heck with it. I say we let the Argentinians have 'em.

    1. Translucent Chum   13 years ago

Are the Maldives real? I just googled and the shape of the islands sure looks like the Loch Ness monster.

    2. Heroic Mulatto   13 years ago

A country whose entire economy is based on Western tourism bans dancing in public?

      Brilliant!

    3. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

      I smell a Footloose sequel!

      1. Brutus   13 years ago

Wouldn't have been much of a movie if Kevin Bacon's head had been on a plate at the first objection to the no-dancing rule.

        1. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

          Says you.

    4. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

Stop that! I already missed the Maldives/Malvinas moment once today.

    5. Tulpa Doom   13 years ago

Nah, let global warming take care of them.

    6. Mo   13 years ago

Who knew the town in Footloose was Islamic?

      1. BakedPenguin   13 years ago

And the actor who played the guy who fought against them was named... Bacon. OMG OMG OMG.

        1. Coeus   13 years ago

That's what this middle east shit is really about. They found out about the new bacon feature on google.

          That's right:

Google put bacon in their homes.

  2. Caleb Turberville   13 years ago

    Remember folks, "Hope and Change".

    1. Caleb Turberville   13 years ago

      Also, Nobel "Peace" Prize.

      1. gaijin   13 years ago

        What a riot!

        1. Caleb Turberville   13 years ago

I'm more of a fan of Camus than of Satre, but I can understand why someone would refuse to accept a Nobel Prize.

          1. ThatSkepticGuy   13 years ago

Sartre's idea of "peace" entailed keeping a big smile on your face while your Communist overlords liquidated your property. shot your family and shipped your ass to the gulag.

    2. Pippers   13 years ago

      Only have hope left.

Nothing has changed there in 4000+ years.

    3. wareagle   13 years ago

but electing Obama meant the world would love us. Chris Matthews and his tribe told me so.

      1. Caleb Turberville   13 years ago

And they're still telling us so.

        1. wareagle   13 years ago

pay no attention to those mobs of people yelling, burning American flags, and otherwise looking like a more dangerous version of the Occutards. Instead, ask why Romney dared criticize The Obama.

          1. Corning   13 years ago

            Dude, didn't you hear!??!!

Paul Ryan lied about his time in a Marathon race that happened over 10 years ago.

            1. VG Zaytsev   13 years ago

That's the real reason that the mooslims are rioting.

  3. db   13 years ago

Those aren't recon drones, they're cannon fodder to get the Libyans to expend their AA ordnance before the real planes show up.

    1. LTC(ret) John   13 years ago

These aren't the drones you're looking for?

  4. Translucent Chum   13 years ago

Why is the big O making a photo op out of this. I'm not sure the visual of the president next to a bunch of caskets is a winner. I'm genuinely curious.

    1. John   13 years ago

      Me too

    2. Translucent Chum   13 years ago

Ah, now I see. AP headline "Obama leads homecoming ceremony, GOP attacks"

By Nedra Pickler and Jim Kuhnhenn
      Associated Press

      1. John   13 years ago

the headline in today's New York Times was "Hearing from Obama helps ease rift in Egypt".

        1. wareagle   13 years ago

I just threw up a little.

        2. db   13 years ago

Yes, now the main debate over there is whether to use gasoline (big bright conflagration) or kerosene (long slow burn for longer protest) to burn US flags.

  5. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

The FBI is probing a set where parts of the Innocence of Muslims movie was filmed...

HOW IS THIS A LEGITIMATE INVESTIGATION? What the hell?

    1. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

I can save them some time, by the way. It was filmed in front of the green screen.

    2. John   13 years ago

I thought using the FBI for political purposes kind of went out with Nixon.

      1. The Hammer   13 years ago

It seems to have come back in fashion around 2009, randomly.

    3. Heroic Mulatto   13 years ago

The FBI is probing a set where parts of the Innocence of Muslims movie was filmed and has asked the set owner not to speak to the press about what he knows of the people behind the filming.

Why? This person and the people who made the film haven't done anything illegal, as far as we can tell.

      1. wareagle   13 years ago

on the other hand, speaking out could be dangerous.

        1. Heroic Mulatto   13 years ago

But that should be the man's choice, not the FBI's.

          1. wareagle   13 years ago

I agree with what you're saying, but the FBI's advice seems pretty sound here. The owner is free to disregard the request but how many more fatwahs do we need.

      2. Xenocles   13 years ago

When I heard that on the radio this morning I was enraged. When I heard and read people who thought the producer should "be in jail," and not be too embarrassed to say it, it completely blew my mind. I had a Farnsworth moment.

        1. VG Zaytsev   13 years ago

It's definitely rage inducing, but surprising - no?

Face it, America's a fascist state now.

One with a happy face, that only reluctantly cracks your skull for your own good, of course; but fascist none the less.

      3. Brutus   13 years ago

Show Holder the man, and he'll find the crime.

    4. Episiarch   13 years ago

It doesn't matter if it's legitimate or not, it's political now. And were you actually delusional enough to think that we live under the rule of law?

    5. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

Well, this may end up with the government paying someone money. The more they throw their weight around, the closer this comes to an actionable First Amendment claim. I'm feeling a chilling effect right now, in fact.

  6. John   13 years ago

    http://www.breitbart.com/Breit.....-Will-Ease

Obama: The day I am inaugurated Muslim hostility will ease.

    LOL

    1. Pippers   13 years ago

      Said no one ever.

      1. wareagle   13 years ago

oh please. Obama's hubris level is such that he thinks his mere presence can calm the seas. He made the apology speech in Cairo and, in the tape, played up his background and how wonderful it would be. Then he spent a week reminding anyone who would listen how he was now the world's leading killer of Muslims. He's a fraud.

    2. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

Of course Romney's saying exactly the same thing:

      http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....ml?hpid=z1

      1. John   13 years ago

Maybe he is. But that is not what that link says. And even if he were, so what? That doesn't make Obama any less of a clown.

        1. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

The fact that Obama hasn't be able to put the fire out doesn't mean we should start throwing gasoline on it, which seems to be Romney's plan.

          1. Cytotoxic   13 years ago

How would he be throwing gasoline on it? Blood is great fire-douser btw.

          2. The Hammer   13 years ago

As opposed to Obama's apparent plan of rooting out the makers of the Narrative Pretext film and sacrificing them to the people who have already murdered at least 3 Americans?

          3. wareagle   13 years ago

Obama has done the opposite of dousing the flames; he enables them to continue.

He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. We're talking about fanatic Muslims here; there is one language tehy understand.

  7. sloopyinca   13 years ago

Enough bad news for one day. Let's talk about Seattle's finest.

Now, according to dunphy badger, the violations to the court order don't count even when you later throw your ex-girlfriend out a second story window. So if this cop gets more than a slap on the wrist, it will prove the double-standard whereby cops are sentenced a lot more than the rest of us would be.

    1. Warty   13 years ago

you just jump to conclusions without even WAITING for the investication...you and your chidshb ilk keep torlling your hatred of cops

meanwhile i and my brothers will stay out there keeping your safe...your welcome

      1. Trespassers W   13 years ago

No, no, something about this doesn't add up at all... How did dunphy steal Warty's handle???

    2. RedDragon6009   13 years ago

You really should read the article.

The wife claims she was not in the car when he was pulled over and that he did not violate the no-contact order. And while it appears that she's lying, that at least means she was ok with him violating it. I'm not saying he's not a bad cop since he seems to have a history of problems, but this seems like a not-story to me.

      1. Tulpa Doom   13 years ago

        ATFPAPIC: truth 1, bigorati 0

        1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

Bullshit, Tulpa. She's lying. And it's not up to her if it's OK for him to violate a court order. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if the judge held her in contempt.

    3. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

At first I thought you were gonna talk about coffee, which mad me happy, but then I realized you meant the cops, and that made me sad.

    4. Coeus   13 years ago

Now sloop, I like you and all, but you're trying too hard to make "dunphy badger" happen.

  8. Jerry on the road   13 years ago

Is it just me or is the CIA really that bad in film making?

    1. VG Zaytsev   13 years ago

      No shit.

It's transparently a false flag operation.

  9. rts   13 years ago

Shooting unarmed veterans not confined to US

His family said there are many questions they want answered about his death, including why police used lethal force on a man on his own property when the family has been told Matters was not armed.

Sorry this has nothing to do with Islamic protests.

  10. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

The Innocence of Muslims, a movie that has enraged radical Islamists who have rioted and committed murders in the Middle East this week, was partially shot on a set that Paramount's TV unit helped to build for its TV show JAG...

JAG, on the other hand, is a show that has delighted people the world over who appreciate an entertaining combination of Top Gun, A Few Good Men, and Catherine Bell's breasts.

    1. John   13 years ago

Anything involving Catherine Bell's breasts is made for TV entertainment. She has the best body in Hollywood even in her 40s.

      1. Heroic Mulatto   13 years ago

She has the best body in Hollywood even in her 40s

She is bangin' but that's stretching it a bit.

        1. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

It's stretching my britches is what it's stretching.

        2. John   13 years ago

She started out making her living as a body double. She was the woman that other actresses wanted people to think their body looked like.

          1. Libertymike   13 years ago

Putting aside just where along the superlative continium she sits, Ms. Bell is unambiguously and unequivocally, smoking.

      2. Killazontherun   13 years ago

Just googled an image search to remind me. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

    2. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

I never watched the show, but I always assumed people watched it for the last two reasons only.

      1. wareagle   13 years ago

pretty much. The rest required a suspension of disbelief on a nuclear level.

        1. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

That show was totally believable and accurate. Lt. Commander Harmon Jag flew around the world in his F-14 solving mysteries in the name of the United States Navy, just like our Naval aviators do on a daily basis. SO YOU SHUT YOUR UNPATRIOTIC WHORE MOUTH.

          1. wareagle   13 years ago

you left out the part about his being the Navy's version of Perry Mason, righter of societal wrongs, protector of the downtrodden, and friend to stray puppies the world over. Good god, teh man should be on a postage stamp if not currency.

            1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

You ever notice how it was "Hamilton Burger" whenever they used his full name, but "Ham" when they were talking to or about him informally?

          2. Episiarch   13 years ago

There are other people in that show besides Catherine Bell and Zoe McClellan?

          3. NoVAHockey   13 years ago

I can't read "Naval aviator" without doing it Louis Gossett Jr voice

            1. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

              That's how I typed it.

              1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

I just beat up Richard Gere reading that.

      2. Joe M   13 years ago

        2 out of 4 ain't bad.

  11. sloopyinca   13 years ago

Cops fired for using stun guns as party favors to be reinstated.

I guess if they had been trained not to use them to stun each other, other city employees and family members at parties, they could have been punished...or, I don't know, charged with a fucking crime.

I wonder if this is worthy of the "adults" discussing it, or is it going right to the troll-o-meter?

    1. Brett L   13 years ago

Heh. Almost as good as FL Corrections agents stunning their own 10 year olds at take your kid to work day. Almost.

      1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

I said this elsewhere, but it bears repeating: Florida is the prolapsed colon of the south.

        1. RedDragon6009   13 years ago

It looks more like a flaccid penis, or at the very least, the hairless scrotum of North America.

        2. Episiarch   13 years ago

Knock off the collective shit, Ken. ProL and BP are assholes because some FL cops are shitheads? Because that's what you're saying.

You only say that because you see them at the monthly Asshole meetings.

                1. Episiarch   13 years ago

Never said I didn't. By the way, are you bringing the doughnuts at the next one, or is Warty?

I'm on refreshment duty. Mr. Pibb for you again?

                    1. Episiarch   13 years ago

No, let's mix it up. Bring me some Mello Yello Cherry.

                    2. Warty   13 years ago

                      Mello Yello Cherry

Are you asking me to punch him in the kidneys again?

          2. Warty   13 years ago

Are you claiming that ProGlib and BonerPenis aren't assholes?

            1. Episiarch   13 years ago

Note my response to JW. And their names are ProLosertate and ButtProlapse.

              1. Warty   13 years ago

                Fuck you, Episs-ache.

                1. Episiarch   13 years ago

Whatever, Warty. See, your handle is so stupid I don't even have to change it to make it insulting. Idiot.

Oh, we suck. But we're better than O-H-I-O. I know, I did a tour there. I've got the thousand-yard stare to prove it.

Did you at least visit the Mothersbaugh residence while you were there?

"You listen to ProLib, new guy. He knows ti ti. Very little. You know he's never been in the shit,'cause he ain't got the stare."

              "The stare?"

"The thousand-yard stare. A reasonoid gets it after he's been in Ohio for too long. It's like...it's like you've really
seen beyond. I got it. All the old reasonoids got it. And you'll have it too."

  12. mad libertarian guy   13 years ago

    What. The. Fuck.

Our government, and a bunch of leftists who sincerely want to believe that Islam is the religion of peace, are off their fucking rocker with this goddamn video.

Murderers are rampaging various embassies around the world, and Americans want to blame a fucking video. Believe that there is just NO WAY that Islamists would EVER incite violence on their own.

Acknowledging the real reason for the attacks -- or at least not coming up with such bullshit -- would be a nice start.

        1. ThatSkepticGuy   13 years ago

"Acknowledging the real reason for the attacks -- or at least not coming up with such bullshit -- would be a nice start."

No, see, this isn't the result of an unreformed religion which preaches violence and destruction in the name of self-righteous hypocrisy, this happened because you're allowed to own things and say what you believe.

          1. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

Do you seriously think that if everyone in the Middle East was suddenly Christian instead of Muslim, there would be any less violence?

            1. Cytotoxic   13 years ago

              Yes.

              1. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

Well then you're a fool. The only thing that would change is what the angry mobs are chanting.

                1. wareagle   13 years ago

The only thing that would change is what the angry mobs are chanting.

bullshit. Squared. Islam is the only religion whose default response to damn near anything is violence. Usually expressed toward other people. All Muslims are not violent or terrorists, but damn near all acts of violence or terrorism the world over are carried out by Muslims.

                  1. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

Islam is the only religion whose default response to damn near anything is violence.

Oh irony, thy name is neocons.

                    1. wareagle   13 years ago

Oh irony, thy name is neocons.

really, this? Show where I am wrong about Islam.

                    2. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

No, the irony of a neocon complaining about other people "whose default response to damn near anything is violence".

                    3. wareagle   13 years ago

How many Christian mobs do you see storming embassies and murdering people?

                      Pre-Reformation, quite a few.

Among the problems is that Islam hasn't had theirs yet.

Islam needs an Enlightenment ,not a Reformation. The Reformation's basic tenets are very similar to Islam.

                2. Corning   13 years ago

Well then you're a fool. The only thing that would change is what the angry mobs are chanting.

I still say the world would be completely different without Islam so it would be impossible to tell what the fuck would be going on. Maybe without Islam the golden horde would have conquered all of Europe and the Middle East and Christianity would have been snuffed out.

But in comparison why isn't South America in protest right now?

Is the Middle East cursed ground or something?

Your premise is a fantastical impossibility and your stance on your premise relies on magic.

You would have to completely undo 1500 years of history including the preservation of Roman and Greek text by Muslims...So who the fuck knows what the world would look like without Islam.

My guess is Christianity would look very different then it does today without the influence of Islam.

              1. Killazontherun   13 years ago

Common misunderstanding. Pre-Islamic Arabs preserved Roman and Greek texts. Islamic ones burned many. That which survived intact owed absolutely nothing to Islam.

                http://www.gutenberg.org/files......htm#koran

The learned men of Alexandria asked the Caliph Omar to give to them the vast library at Alexandria. "If those books," he replied, "contain anything which is contrary to the 'Koran' they deserve to be destroyed. If they contain what is written in the 'Koran,' they are unnecessary." He ordered them to be distributed among the baths of the city, to serve as fuel for their furnaces.

                1. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

While Islamic Arabs certainly did destroy a lot of "pagan" documents during their expansion, the burning of the library of Alexandria by Caliph Omar is largely considered a myth. The library had been long gone by the time Omar sacked Alexandria circa 640.

Most of it was destroyed entirely by accident by either Casear or Aurelius (depending on which account you believe), and the remainder was destroyed at the order of the Coptic Pope Theophilus of Alexandria in 391.

            3. Lisa   13 years ago

Islam is as much political as it is religious. Modern day Christianity is not that political, hence the reason that there are more Christians in communist China than the free world.

I think much of the debate regarding the "Are Muslims violent?" would be go away if people realized that it is a political movement.

        2. Stormy Dragon   13 years ago

Yes, but if Obama suggested that it's not suprising that after 50 years of killing hundreds of thousands of people and backing brutal dictatorships in the region, there's is a lot of anger toward the US, he'd be accused of apologizing for America again.

      1. ThatSkepticGuy   13 years ago

London has had no shortage of issues with Islamists within their own country over the past decade, whether it's Muslim students becoming violently disrutpive in classes that teach the Holocaust as historical fact or huge spikes of "retribution" rapes whenever someone poublically criticizes Islam.

What's interesting is that although Pakistan was split from the old British India as an Islamic country the Muslim population in India is very close to Pakistan's (177,286,000 vs 178,097,000 according to wikipedia).

Also, many of India's Muslims are quite distrustful of Pakistan if some of the reports I've heard are true.

        1. Gray Ghost   13 years ago

I don't find the prospect of reunification in the near future that far-fetched, especially if a Muslim attains high office in India. Which, again, doesn't seem that far-fetched in the next 25 years or so. Are there institutionalized rules/norms against Muslims in political office?

The remote operators should get a moderate shock when their drones are shot down. They're expensive and there should be some personal incentive to avoid getting hit.

OK, it's baby name auction time. I'm gonna get it set up on ebay and post the link, probably some time over the weekend. I'm going to try and see how we can do an extended time period to stretch it to Thanksgiving.

We've decided that we are going to donate the money to the Reason Foundation, so it's going to be tax-deductible.

    A few rules:
    No profanity
    No obscenity
    Nothing too Jewey

We're going to open the bidding at $20, and bids can be taken here and I'll keep a running tally on the blog.

    1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

OK, I've been informed that that third rule is right out. Please disregard it.

    2. Auric Demonocles   13 years ago

I said no profanity. It's an auction for a reason: people can do what they want with the winnings within the rules.

And it's like Penn Jillette said: nobody gives a fuck about middle names anyway.

    5. Tulpa Doom   13 years ago

Its actually 3 fuel tanks cross feeding. Technically, I believe, the outer 2 feed the middle one so that it has a fullish load after 2/3rd of the fuel has burned off. Which immensely limits the complexity. That said, all 27 engines are supposed to be able to be independently throttled. I would be surprised to find this is what actually happens.

          1. Doktor Kapitalism   13 years ago

That's essentially what I meant, but it's been a long week. The real question is how many engine-outs they can take. According to this video* multiple, but how many is that. And if they're going to be turning these things out like Volkswagens instead of Maybachs, they're going to have to sacrifice some quality control.

            1. Brett L   13 years ago

Yeah. I believe their standard is still going to be 1 engine out per 9 engine cluster can still achieve orbit. So on the Heavy, they can lose 3, but they have to be the right 3. As they've had zero in 3 flights, well, so far, so good. I believe they do a full duration firing in McAllen before shipping the vehicle to Canaveral, so that probably helps the QC process.

    2. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

NASA "and its team of private contractors" are going to Mars. Leave out NASA, and that might even be true.

      1. Doktor Kapitalism   13 years ago

I would be happy to step into NASA's place...

        1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

"Doktor Kapitalism and his team of private contractors are going to Mars. Next year."

          1. Doktor Kapitalism   13 years ago

Nah, I've got a couple more years before I get my degree. 2020 is a good starting point, though. I can definitely beat NASA "sometime in the 2030s," but I think that I'd loose to Mars One.

  23. A Serious Man   13 years ago

The complete Indiana Jones series will be released digitially remastered on Blu-ray next week and rest assured, IGN says it does not appear that Spielberg or Lucas made any alterations to the movies.

The scene I thought for sure Lucas and Spielberg would gut was where Indy shoots the Arab swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You know, he shoots first.

    1. Brett L   13 years ago

Fuck George Lucas with the business end of a rusty shovel.

      That is all.

      1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

I'm attacking the German embassy because of seeing a Lucas film.

        1. Brett L   13 years ago

          I'll be burning Skywalker Ranch.

        2. Archduke Pantsfan   13 years ago

i'm going to screen "Howard the Duck" and then burn the theatre

          1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

            Um, this.

            That is all.

            1. db   13 years ago

              Thank you for that.

            2. db   13 years ago

Thank you for that and fuck the server squirrels.

    2. Episiarch   13 years ago

Oh, they need to make an alteration. It's called erasing any evidence that the fourth one exists off the face of the planet.

      1. A Serious Man   13 years ago

I've actually never seen the fourth one. Is it Star Wars prequels bad?

        1. Episiarch   13 years ago

Yes. Don't watch it. Seriously, you do not want to see it.

I saw it in the theater. Also, there is a South Park episode about it.

        2. Joe M   13 years ago

Really, all you need to do is watch the first 30 seconds, see the CGI prairie dogs, and turn it off.

        3. VG Zaytsev   13 years ago

Is it Star Wars prequels bad?

          Much, much worse.

          1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

You people keep talking about Star Wars prequels and fourth Indiana Jones movies like they're real or something.

      2. Joe M   13 years ago

        They made a fourth one?

      3. Brett L   13 years ago

What are you talking about? There is no fourth Indiana Jones movie.

      4. Brett L   13 years ago

Also, Epi, I've been rereading Bloom County strips in published order. In '83 BB guessed '98 for Star Wars sequels. Turns out he was off by a year. I am also saddened by how relevant the average political strip is to our life. almost 30 years and nothing has changed but the names.

        1. Episiarch   13 years ago

I have all the books, which are in order, and read them every few years.

Yeah, it's relevant, but that's partly because Berke was so good at seeing the essence of it and expressing it.

          1. Night Elf Mohawk   13 years ago

Lord knows we need more statesmen.

        2. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

          Sequels? Still waiting on those.

  24. Nephi   13 years ago

Her impending loss is the only thing I have to look forward to this November.

    1. Nephi   13 years ago

Stupid Reason HnR s/w. This was in reply to the guy who linked the Liz Warren story.

  25. Gojira   13 years ago

Question on the kid naming thing: can it be multiple words combined?

For example, if I wanted to toss a c-note on Robotjox or Electricboogaloo, is that allowable?

    1. Gojira   13 years ago

And if so, how many words? Could I do, Keithdavidisthegreatestlivingactor?

      1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

OK, that last one is out, but I would consider Davidkeithisthegreatestlivingactor. You're OK with the Benjamin on Electricboogaloo or Robotjox. Take your pick.

Corporate sponsorships are fine, with the exception of anyone who sells deep-dish, which I addressed in the "no profanity" rule.

        1. Gojira   13 years ago

Sent you an email. Also sent epi one. I'm hoping he'll go half-sies with me on one. I was also thinking, "Jean-Luc", "Tiberius", "Gorn", or asking if I could contribute extra if we get Muad-Dib and everytime you introduce her to someone, you promise to tell them, "Her name is a killing word."

          1. LTC(ret) John   13 years ago

If you get Muad'Dib in, I'll kick in $20 toward that.

            1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

              "And then there's Maud'Dib!"

              1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

Years ago, I did a bit on Urkobold where it was Zod instead of Maude. The whole reason was because I got that danged theme song in my head: "And then there's Zod!"

        2. Gojira   13 years ago

Ohohoh, I know! How much for, "Iheartdunphy"?

          1. Archduke Pantsfan   13 years ago

            ^^^ THIS ^^^

        3. Gojira   13 years ago

          Or maybe, "copsrule", or "propolice".

        4. Episiarch   13 years ago

You think David Keith is better than Keith David. So, that must mean you think Firestarter is better than The Thing. Which means you're retarded.

OK, JJ, I will go in on this with you. But we need to choose wisely. Muad'Dib is very tempting because of the killing word bit.

          1. Gojira   13 years ago

That, or Kwisatz Haderach. Though Dunphy or Policeone is also very tempting...but sure, I'll be happy to split it.

          2. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

Two words: Family Affair. I win, bitch.

        5. Gojira   13 years ago

Just think of it. You're daughter could be Reason Policeone Spicer.

          1. Coeus   13 years ago

            How about "porchmonkey"?

            I'm bringing it back.

            1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

First, it's "I'm taking it back," so you fail.

Second, well there is no second. You're free to bid $110 on "Porchmonkey," as the current bid is Robotjox at $100.

              1. Coeus   13 years ago

Dammit, I fucked it up and it's tainted now. Can it be hyphenated? Reason Flash-Gordon Spicer. Or maybe Jar-Jar-Binks.

              2. db   13 years ago

I think that technically, it has to be said while executing an epicyclic head shake to be valid.

                1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

Again, it's the choice of the winner. I don't even want to know until the end of the whole thing what you guys are gonna pick.

As of now, Jimbo is the high bidder at $100. I'm gonna post it on the blog (that has been neglected for quite a while) and you guys can feel free to comment in that thread. I'll use it and update here from time to time.

                  1. db   13 years ago

I would bid on "Kara" as it's my sister's name and a lovely one at that, but it might not be appropriate given Banjos' handle.

                    1. Gray Ghost   13 years ago

She could always claim that her parents were really big Catch-22 fans. Or bad 80s dance music. (Drawing a blank on any other double names.)

Playing off of Gojira's suggestions, my contribution for her middle name is, "Badgebunny."

            2. hamilton   13 years ago

              "Reason Mayonnaise Spicer"

  26. MakajazMonkee   13 years ago

This so should have been a Porn.....Hadith Nights....Cor Anne........but then again if it was true to life it would be illegal as Muhammed was a well documented paedo

  27. blubi   13 years ago

Protests, protests, protests, and a few deaths - good way to trivialize

The FBI is "probing" who produced a film??? Isn?t this an attack on free speech, something what do you call it...libertarian that Reason should be concerned about?

Is it political correctness or cowardice?

    1. sloopyinca   13 years ago

Maybe if you read a bit more than just the headlines, you'd understand how pissed all of us are on here.

But that might take too much energy or something.

      Retard.
