Axelrod on Obama's Drug Policy: Make People Safe, Healthy
CHARLOTTE – While leaving the Politico Playbook Breakfast, President Obama's senior advisor, David Axelrod, said that he wasn't familiar with talk of Obama changing directions on drug policy in a possible second term.
When asked he if President Obama cares about the war on drugs he said, "I think what's important is to make sure that people are healthy and to make sure people are safe and it's important to move our economy forward and those are the goals that he's going to pursue."
Other Obama representives in Charlotte have been evasive when it comes to talking about the president's drug policy.
Axelrod spoke to reporters for five minutes before departing by car.

I wonder how many drugs that little shithead hippy did back in the day?
Why do you think he's stopped?
"I think what's important is to make sure that people are healthy..." or in prison.
Where we can keep them healthy.
Or?
"I think what's important is to make sure that people are healthy..."
1) , wealthy, and wise.
2) Death panels!
This can't be watched enough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWWOJGYZYpk
(the Penn Jillette rant that is)
May be the best rant ever.
Yeah that is great. All of these assholes who are all for the WOD now but still laugh about what they all did in college should be forced to watch it every day. And then be taken out back and shot.
Mindless talking points is Obama's second term policy on the war on drug users.
axelrod's gonna haveta channel lance armstrong to break into the sox rotation...or maybe not
Translation: "He's going to continue stepping on the Constitution just like always, or what did you expect?"
Whats up with all the Red Sox alt-text today? Granted i hope bobby v burns in hell like the rest of new england....
Seriously. NFL started last night, so baseball season is officially over.

I second that motion.
^^^^ THIS. Baseball may be discussed once the Super Bowl is over.
What? And infringe on the NCAA tournament? No. No baseball until April, at the earliest.
After the NCAA tournament, I like to take a month or two off from sports. And then come back just in time for NFL training camps.
As for me, the two sports of baseball and college basketball complement each other quite nicely on the calendar. When one is over, the other begins.
Wrong.
Speaking as a born and bred Red Sox fan I cannot tell you how badly this expedition to rock bottom is needed for Boston sports fans.
We've become wayyy wayyy wayyy too complacent. Kids born in the late 1990's expect a damn ring and a parade every year. Everyone has won one recently- Celtics, Sawx, Pats, Bruins. Boston needs a little drought time for a while to get that feeling back.
Yeah, another 90 years or so will do nicely.
That's fine with me. After 2004 AND THE GREATEST CHOKE JOB OF ALL TIME BY THE NEW YORK YANKEES I can die happy.
speaking as a tribe fan, the 04 sox championship was the greatest comeback evah!
the sox were 1 out from elimination in game 3 of the division series vs the tribe, tied it up, then not only won that game but swept the tribe...and everybody else in their way.
Jesus Mary, you can't even get your baseball right.
You're the worst towel ever.
pfht amateur, Cubs are over a century and counting.
"When asked he if President Obama cares about the war on drugs he said, "I think what's important is to make sure that people are healthy and to make sure people are safe and it's important to move our economy forward and those are the goals that he's going to pursue.""
Uh, well...
"....to make sure people are healthy...safe...."
Fuck you Dave, it isnt your job to make sure we are healthy. You are the fucking hired help, your job is to do as we tell you , you miniscule fuckstick.
To the reporters who didnt call Dave on his authoritarianism, fuck you too.
And that's about all that needs to be said in this thread. Well put, SB.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Outstanding.
Serve the servants.
I'll throw in a 4th on that. I was going to say roughly the same thing, but I think you probably said it better.
"I think what's important is to make sure that people are healthy and to make sure people are safe and it's important to move our economy forward and those are the goals that he's going to pursue."
Spoken like a true P.R man for those benefiting from the War on Drugs.
Axelrod can't even find a competent barber, so I'm not sure why I listen to his blather.
I thought Axelrod was in the White Sox rotation.

Making sure that people are healthy is one of the key functions of government. It says so, right there in the Constitution. Somewhere. I think it's between "provide for" and "general welfare". You just have to read carefully.
I don't want the state to make sure I'm healthy, that's MY responsibility.
