You got put in the "raised by parents in same-sex relationships" group even though you were really raised by "traditionally married" parents who got divorced because one of them was gay.

He fully admitted as much in the paper, and that it was because the population of adults raised by actual same-sex couples was too small, but it's a very, very weak study.

Yeah, if you don't specifically target the muscles responsible for holding arms horizontally (deltoids) they don't develop much. When I first started doing shoulder raises at the gym it was embarrassing because I had to do it with the 10 lb dumbells. But I don't think it's a male vs. female thing, at least not for the weight of a commonly used gun.

strongmen actually compete in some events like that where they have to hold objects up with their arms horizontal.

personally, i don't "need" that kind of strength, and i have no idea how good i'd be at it.

my shoulder work pretty much solely consists of

push press
behind neck push press
snatch grip push press

and of course doing the classic lifts (snatch and CJ)

no "direct" or isolation work for shoulders

i know a few lifters who do strict press, but i think push press has far more carryover to the classic lifts, although for certain lifters, at certain stages of their development, there is a place for strict pressing imo

otoh, i would NEVER do a seated press. that's about as likely as me doing a smith machine squat. aint gonna happen

i do occasionally do kettlebell pressing, but that's more for GPP and active rest than direct strength development

Mitt Romney apparently invited Clint Eastwood to speak at the RNC personally, while President Obama says he's a huge fan of the actor and director's work and wasn't offended by his remarks at the RNC.

He was so "not offended" that he felt the need to respond to Eastwood in about the most childish way possible.
