New Elizabeth Warren Ad Targets GOP as "Anti-Women," Avoids Mention of Mass. Sen. Scott Brown

Brown pointed out earlier he was pro-choice when Warren tried to use the Todd Akin controversy to her advantage

Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren released a new ad on Monday knocking Republicans in general on women's issues, while leaving out her opponent's name.

"Why do women have to fight the same old battles?" Warren asks at the opening of the ad. She goes on to mention that Republicans blocked a measure that would've given women equal pay, and supported denying insurance coverage for birth control.

I wonder if Limousine Lizzie realzes that very few public health plans in the world pay for contraception. In Canada, most provinces have plans to pay for contraception for poor women, they are means tested and not part of provincial Medicare.

It amazes me that so many people who want a Canadian-style or a French-style public “insurance” system realize that those systems do not pay for many of the things they expect to get for free under whatever plan they expect to get here.

This is a good a time as any to wonder if the reason “our” healthcare spending is so much higher than all those “good” is that we count a whole lot more things as being healthcare.
