ReasonTV talks with disgruntled Ron Paul supporters in Tampa at Paul Fest, a grassroots-organized sendoff to the Paul campaign in 2013.

The short version: These folks are unlikely to be voting for GOP candidate Mitt Romney, more likely to go with Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson (who makes an appearance).

So, the Ron Paul Fest is not the same as the Ron Paul Rally?

Apparently, Adam Kokesh has been banned from the Ron Paul Rally for smoking DMT on Youtube. Either that, or he just pissed off Jesse Benton.

I just saw a post this past week that said, "I wish we had a third choice!" I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!!!! This is a travesty!

I sent a message to Janet Brown at [e-mail] She is in charge of the Commission of Presidential Debates. Ms. Brown needs to know that we believe all candidates with their names on enough ballots to potentially win the election (there are FOUR this year, not TWO) should be represented in the debates that help the people of this country decide who deserves their votes!

We deride other countries when we see inequalities in their elections; why do we not see the inequalities in our own? If you care, write to Ms. Brown to let her know how you feel...I will be boycotting the debates unless they are all up there. The Democrats and Republicans will have ZERO chance to influence me through this medium if it's not a fair process.

Which came first, labelling the presumptive Republican nominee a monster or getting shut out of the Republican platform? Many of the would-be delegates from the Ron Paul camp come across as reasonable on camera, so if they presented themselves to the powers that be in the RNC that way, then it's all on the RNC. However, if the Paulites came at their fellow Republicans like wild men, then they share some of the blame for being ignored.

Mr. Paul, in an interview, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined.

"It wouldn't be my speech," Mr. Paul said. "That would undo everything I've done in the last 30 years. I don't fully endorse him for president."

Oh well, I guess that's that. But I suspect that every single person speaking at the convention probably has to meet these same exact conditions.

This is just how all of the political conventions are now: they aren't debates, they're showcases for the nominee. The winner dictates how it goes, and the losers fall in line.
