Pleads guilty to embezzling more than $220,000
The former sheriff of Franklin County has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $220,000 meant for undercover drug operations and from his office's evidence room.
Former Sheriff Pat Green pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of embezzlement. Green resigned in January amid a state investigation. He faces between 44 and 62 months in jail and must repay the money.
He previously repaid $6,000 taken from a fund for underprivileged children.
