Small Businesses Challenge Feds Over Red Tape

Coalition of entrepreneurs complains of a "tidal wave" of regulations

|

The National Federation of Independent Business in Missouri announced today that it was joining a campaign with eight other states to fight what it calls a "tidal wave" of regulations coming out of the Obama administration.

Known as Small Business for Sensible Regulations, the initiative is "focused on elevating the stories of its small-business members to educate the public about the impact" of new regulations it says are stifling growth. The NFIB, which bills itself as a nonpartisan advocate for small business, announced the initiative as campaign season enters the final stretch. All of the states that are part of the campaign are considered contested in the November presidential election, including critical battleground states such as Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania.
