Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson Brags About His School Choice Street Cred
A nice interview with Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson on his school choice credentials:
Food for thought from the interview:
"Politicians for the most part propmote crony capitalism, promote big business, as opposed to promoting free markets. If we had genioune free market approaches to education and the delivery of education services, we would have anything but big corporate America participating in this. We would have a groundswell fo educational entrepreneurs that would deliver better products, better services, at much lower prices."
And this:
"I don't think people recognize that the federal government gives states about 11 cents out of every school dollar that every state spends, but that it comes with 16 cents worth of strings attached."

propmote...genioune
Hittin' the sauce a little early aren't we, KMW? Careful - we don't want the little Mangu Ward to have the Alkie Syndrome. Unless you're feeding him/her formula, in which case just make sure you don't drop the little one while you're changing diapers and such.
Carry on.
"fo educational "
I think that is just how gay jay talks.
Thank you, Citizen. I obviously missed that one.
The Dude: Fuck sympathy! I don't need your fuckin' sympathy, man, I need my fucking johnson!
Donny: What do you need that for, Dude?
Why governors make better presidents than legislators do.
Legislators believe that writing something down magically makes it happen. Governors have to deal with what legislators write down.
Why governors make better presidents than legislators do.
Governors like Bush 2 (TX), Clinton (AR), Reagan (CA) Carter (GA), Wilson (NJ), both Roosevelts (NY)?
Although I'll grant that some of the worst of the worst have come from Congress: Obama, Bush 1, Nixon, LBJ, Truman, Andrew Johnson, Lincoln.
I could go on, but whatever.
Better does not mean best. I'm thinking Clinton versus Obama here. It did not escape me that Bush II was a governor too.
But to push the comparison, there was a string of legislators in Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford. The middle two especially were even worse than Obama with regard to believing that legislation magically makes reality. Carter, frankly, gets too little credit for deregulation, for repealing crappy legislation.
We would have a groundswell fo educational entrepreneurs that would deliver better products, better services, at much lower prices.
Even products beyond the traditional brick and mortar schoolhouse experience. Online stuff obviously, but I'm also thinking stuff like food trucks (slinging hot knowledge instead of food...or both), more at-home tutors, more computer camps instead of summercamps, etc etc etc
A plethora of innovative options to make kids smarter on the cheap.
Is it just me or does Gary Johnson seem to be getting better at this whole public speaking thing?
But, but, but, public schools are GOOD for kids because they teach them how to interact with other people from different backgrounds. Don't you know that private school kids are insulated from the real world and homeschoolers are little more than completely feral?
Now you might respond that the point of school is to impart knowledge. This is false! The point of school, especially public schools, is to mold children into good, state-fearing citizens.
The point of school, especially public schools, is to mold children into good, state-fearing fellating citizens.
FTFY. Although most statist would probably settle for fear, ideally they want to mold children into big government fluffers.
It's so depressing. If people can't tar a libertarian candidate as a nut job, they just ignore him altogether.
Just another corrupt pompous windbag!
