John Stossel on Journalism, How He Became Libertarian and His New Book "No They Can't"

"Some guy came up to me said, 'Are you John Stossel?…I hope you die soon,'" recounts Fox Business Network host and Reason contributor John Stossel.  Thankfully Stossel found a more civil audience when he stopped by Reason's Washington, DC office on April 11, 2012 to promote his new book No, They Can't: Why Government Fails But Individuals Succeed.

During a lively Q&A session, Stossel took questions from the audience about his book, his time as a consumer reporter, and the power of the internet to communicate libertarian ideas.

I got your joke if nobody else did while doing a high-speed derailing into the same'ol sameol. I know the first rule is don't explain it, so I'll do it for you.

1.Fire in basement burned to the ground.
2. You then said "so it burned up"?
3. "ground" level is above the basement.
4. Therefore the fire burned in an "upward" direction, thus the humor in "burned up", since "burned up" is also a common expression.

Ain't the brain cool? All that reasoning takes place in a nanosecond producing a giggle.

On a serious note: Both John Stossel and Michael Medved appear gay although they aren't (well, I guess we're all at least a little gay). Is it the moustache? Discuss.

On a 2nd note: Did you know that moustache and mustache are both acceptable spellings but Mozilla likes "mustache"
