NIck Gillespie Talking Election 2012, Independent Voters, with Jon Caldara of Independence Institute
The awesome Independence Institute in Denver, Colorado invited me out west last week to debate Ann Coulter about whether libertarians and conservatives could and should work together to defeat liberals such as Barack Obama. (Read about the debate here.)
II's head honcho Jon Caldara, who moderated the debate with his characteristic wit and smarts, worked me over on his public television show, The Devil's Advocate before the debate.
Take a look by clicking above. Here's the write-up:
Friday night means the Independence Institute's public affairs television show Devil's Advocate. This week host Jon Caldara sits down with Reason.com editor-in-chief and co-author of the book "Declaration of Independents" Nick Gillespie to discuss the decline of the Democrat and Republican parties, and the rise of the "Independent" voter.

Poll: Santorum comes from behind in Alabama three-way
There's no way that wasn't intentional.
Poll:Santorum comes from behind in Alabama three-way This demonstrates reason #68 why Santorum has less of a chance than even "He who shall not be named(unless dismissively)" of ever becoming president. The Santorum Factor where every headline resembles a joke written for South Park.
"Dan Savage" aka Keenan Hollahan
The winner of an on line contest being run by Rick Santorum supporters for a definition of "Hole-and-hand" has produced a winning definition of:
bending over and being fisted by a mendacious, waffling politician while saying "Thank you Sir, may I have another!"

What's 6 inches and didn't get sucked on Valentine's Day?
Whitney Houston's crack pipe.
I had a different answer for that. But then again, I've been married 20 years.
Most important question if the thread:
When looking at the wide shot, why was the light of God shining on joe caldera and not on The Jacket?
Going back to the Kennedy video.

You loved them on Lillyhammer.

The problem with "in the city streets" videos, is that no matter how good it is, no matter how good the band might be, they always look like the execrable Bootcamp video.
My god it was about 30 minutes of "We're not as bad as the other guy" with Nick trying to deflect "The Jacket" comments between repeating himself.
I've been there and it's a frustrating conversation to have with the GOP.
"Stop stealing from me and maybe I'll vote for you, you jackasses" usually ends the debate for me.
GOD DAMMIT! WHY DON'T YOU LIBERTARIANS COME IN AND CLEAN UP OUR MESS?!
When Democrats say they want universal health care, higher teacher pay, and expanded environmental regulation, they're telling the truth.
When Republicans say they want a balanced budget, smaller government, and less burdens on small business, they're lying.
Which one's worse?
Go fuck yourselves, that's which.
I don't know Jon Caldara, but he's wrong that the opposition to Harriet Miers' nomination to the Supreme Court was organic or grass roots. Opposition to her nomination was generated and coordinated by the Federalist Society, a conservative legal organization.
Then I say, "Thanks, conservative legal organization, for keeping that dumb Texas shysterette off the Supreme Court."
In reply to Warren, yes, the Democrats are more straightforward about their desires for big government, making the Republicans slightly more hypocritical. But, what Democratic voters and liberals fail to see is how Democratic claims that they're "helping the little guy" are completely bogus when they're so enmeshed in crony capitalism. And, their desires for big government just squeeze the "little guy" even more than he's already being squeezed, by a weak economy and low wage growth, with the increased taxes required to fund this whole house of cards.
See, thats exactly what I am talking about dude.QBStimPL4
