Reason Writers on TV: Peter Suderman Talks Federal Education Spending with David Asman on Power & Money
President Obama wants to spend more federal tax dollars on public education. But will more spending produce better results? On Tuesday, February 7, Reason associate editor Peter Suderman appeared on Fox Business' Power and Money argues that decades of increases in federal education spending has yet to increase overall educational attainment—and there's no reason to think that this will be any different. Approximately four minutes.

The trouble is that the Dept. of Educ is so huge now, and this fact makes it hard to make it disappear. As if we can suddenly take the Dept. of Education away now when so many people rely on it, albeit not that they actually get anything from it.
I say let the corporations, or other private entities, have education. They can't possibly do any worse. Although, the trouble with this idea is that right now people don't really pay much for K-12 education, so it would be tough for the govt to subsidize so many poor kids in the private model.
"President Obama wants to spend more federal tax dollars on public education"
No, he wants to give more federal tax dollars to teachers and bureaucrats, in order to fill the union coffers which in turn fill Democratic warchests.
Education's got nothing to do with it.
It's how I get bait.
