Yeah, a Birther and anti-Free trade loudmouth. Aren’t they all GOP anyway?

Actually, I would think that most candidates would be praying “Please, God, make Trump endorse the other guy.”

  2. Joe M   13 years ago

    Gingrich challenges Florida’s winner-take-all primary.

That is some bad faith bullshit. He knew the rules of the game, he played by them and lost, and now he doesn’t like it. This is Virginia all over again. Paul explicitly did not campaign there because of the winner-take-all system, so it wouldn’t be fair to him to change it after the fact.

    1. Tulpa   13 years ago

I suppose Newt’s going to give back all the winner-take-all delegates from SC congressional districts, then.

    2. R C Dean   13 years ago

One thing this campaign has shown is what a whiny little bitch NukeTits is.

He is constantly complaining about the debate questions, the debate rules, the oppo ads, the ballot access rules, the delegate apportionment rules.

What a thin-skinned, entitled little prick he is.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R…..ries,_2012

      This actually explains quite succinctly.

In April 2008, the Standing Committee on Rules of the Republican National Committee recommended the adoption of the “Ohio Plan”, that would, starting in 2012, divide the primary states into three tiers: early states, small states, and large states. It would allow the early states to retain their status and tradition of being states that vote first. By the end of February 2012, nineteen small states comprising fifty electoral votes would be allowed to vote. In March, the last states, the largest ones, would then have their primaries.

The 2008 Republican National Convention did not approve the Ohio Plan. Instead, the Rules of the Republican Party adopted by the Convention provided that the timing of binding delegate selection contests would generally be subject to the same rules as the 2008 delegate selection contests. On August 6, 2010, the Republican National Committee (RNC) adopted new rules for the timing of elections, with 103 votes in favor out of 144. Under this plan, elections for delegates to the national convention were to be divided into three periods:

February 2012: Contests of traditional early states Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina,
March 2012: Contests that proportionally allocate delegates,
April 2012, and onward: All other contests including winner-take-all elections.

The only early state that adhered to the new rules was Nevada. Florida scheduled its contest early in violation of the rules, pressuring other states to push back their contests. Being in violation of RNC rules, New Hampshire, Carolina, Florida, Arizona and Michigan were penalized with a loss of half of their delegates, including their RNC delegates. New Hampshire was penalized from 23 delegates to 12, South Carolina from 50 to 25, Florida from 99 to 50, Arizona from 58 to 29 and Michigan from 56 to 30. Iowa, Maine, Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri also violated the rules by scheduling early contests, but since these contests do not bind any national delegates they were not penalized.

      1. CE   13 years ago

I thought the Republicans were all for federalism, letting the states do things their own way.

You might have mentioned that to your good buddy Barack during your many photo opportunities with him.

    1. Karl Hungus   13 years ago

. . . there will be a class called “Politicizing Beyonce” offered by the Women’s Studies Departement at Rutgers.

So does Rutgers still offer degree programs in fields such as engineering, mathematics, biology, etc? You know, hard sciences where a student’s success or failure isn’t determined by how rigidly they toe the PC line?

      1. RoboCain   13 years ago

        Yes, but math is hard.

        1. Karl Hungus   13 years ago

          Yes, but math is hard.

Clearly the normative praxis by which, through your rigorous adherence to the dialectic postconstructionist (versus contemporary) patriarchy, you have othered womyn as a whole, is a clear indicator of your need for sensitivity training. Report to Rutgers at once to be cured of your Neaderthalism.

From the story about the cop who pepper-sprayed a seven year old is dropped this mind-blowing little tidbit:

Heald [the officer who did the pepper-spraying], 50, retired in March after 27 years on the force and could not be reached for comment.

How much you wanna bet he’s getting a huge pension and probably moved onto another job during his “retirement”?

      1. Karl Hungus   13 years ago

How much you wanna bet he’s getting a huge pension and probably moved onto another job during his “retirement”?

The only thing he should move on to is a prison cell, within the general population, with notice given to his brethren that he’s a former cop doing time for abusing a child.

“Shocking Study Reveals Men Care About Marriage, Babies”

    http://jezebel.com/5881647/sho…..age-babies

    1. Barely Suppressed Rage   13 years ago

      Yeah, shocking, right?

It’s because we real men who do, in fact, care about that stuff tend to be kinda boring and don’t make the news, like the rapists, wife beaters, serial cheaters and “johns” picked up by police. They make us married guys who manage to stay married and actually help raise the kids seem pretty dull by comparison.

      1. Xenocles   13 years ago

Happy, functional marriage is a very grey institution. You just sort of don’t notice it, or its participants. I should know, being in one.

In my day, that was called “shopping.”

So what’s up with the Anonymous thing with the white supremacist groups and such?

    Read up, yo.

Basically, all kinda Ron Paul fans are all kinda Nazis?the rare paleo-cracka kind, in this case, not the common OWS kind that he’s shifted his appeals to now. Some of those paleo-crackaz try to sound important to their Nazi friends by claiming they’re personally tight with Ron Paul (and, even more implausibly, Rand Paul). So Anonymous HAXXORD THE WIRLD and found some quotes from some paleo-crackaz making claims to that personal tightness, to a tiny audience of chumpy Nazis on some mailing list or something. And Anonymous presents those quoted claims as all true and just the very tip of the ice-cracka, because Anonymous fans are also chumpy.

    The end.

Or, ask Weigel. I’m sure he has a whole thing.

As if going to the police 3 months after an alleged assault by a celebrity after your boyfriend found out is the same as a guy with injuries and a fucking witness.

        cunts.

I originally heard Trump was going to endorse Gingrich which I thought would make more sense. Trump has a TV show full of washed-up has-been celebrities. It seemed appropriate that he’d endorse a washed-up has-been Washington insider. But I guess Romney can be counted on to keep Trump’s corporate welfare checks coming.

I hear they both like to fire people.

    2. Tulpa   13 years ago

If Romney does anything more than acknowledge that endorsement, he’s a fool.

Trump’s status in public opinion is somewhere between Hitler and the crud stuck to the floor under the fridge.

      1. Joe M   13 years ago

Yeah, the big question is will this endorsement be the kiss of death, or just embarrassing?

Both are self promoting assholes, so why does it really matter?

        Tupla,

He’s a fool then. He stood on stage with him and looked submissive.

Generally cool article, however I have quibble with this:

“Nasa has calculated that the Earth is gaining about 160 tonnes a year because the temperature of the Earth is going up. If we are adding energy to the system, the mass must go up,” says Dr Smith.

Temperature has fuck-all to do with mass, unless they are claiming that the energy stored as chemical bonds is equal to 160 tonnes.

    1. JW   13 years ago

Hmmm..what could be adding energy to the planet? What could it be? What giant, fusing ball of gas 93 million miles away could be responsible for this?

Now, I’m no rocket scientist, but I’m pretty sure that converting mass to energy isn’t adding mass to the system.

    2. Neu Mejican   13 years ago

      Mass change = mCp(T2 – T1) / c^2

      1. Brett L   13 years ago

Just what is the specific heat of Earth at constant pressure? But yes, I guess you can figure a delta e and apply e=mc^2. It seems problematic to me to express your energy as both temperature and mass change.

The Kos Kiddies are in full screech mode over the Susan G. Komen/Planned Parenthood thing, e.g. referring to the Komen org as the “Great Pink Satan”. LOL.

It’s not too difficult to see where their priorities lie. The government can take away every liberty they have, as long as they can get abortions.

“Choice”, they call it. Odd, since they don’t believe in the concept of self ownership.

Pretty much the only way to try to explain the appeal of libertarianism to a progressive is to say “it’s like abortion, but for everything.”

        I am definitely using this.

Except that for many of them, the notion of freedom includes the freedom of having your neighbors foot the bill.

Still, pretty fucking solid at the buzzphrase level, I like it.
