Official Warning to Iowans: Ice Is Slippery

|

Also: Sledding can be dangerous.

This winter, new signs in Ames, Iowa, will warn shut-ins emerging into the light for the first time about the properties of frozen water.

"I think it's a little ridiculous," Manuel Gonzalez Santos of Ames adds, we're putting money, putting all our funding into signs that say that ice is slippery. If you don't know that by now than you obviously don't live in Iowa."

The silver lining of this story: The news anchor says the phrase "the city is spending hundreds of dollars" in a very sincere voice. It almost makes you feel warm and fuzzy about government waste that can be explained with only two zeroes.
