Florida State Trooper Teamed With TSA to Ship and Sell Oxycodone

Because why should Florida pill mills get all that money? 

Transportation Security Administration officers worked with police from New York and Florida to ship tens of thousands of oxycodone pills to New York and Connecticut, federal and local police said Tuesday.

The arrests of three TSA officers, a Westchester County police officers and a Florida state trooper and others will be announced at an afternoon press conference, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's office.

Oxycontin is a preparation of oxycodone. The important difference is that Oxycontin is pure oxycodone in a time-release mechanism, where as all other preparations of oxycodone mix it with some other drug (mainly acetaminophen) as an overuse limiter.

Oxycontin is far more valuable per pill.

And that's why I asked the question. As I said, the original article says nothing about Oxycontin. People think Oxycontin and Oxycodone are interchangeable terms, and they are not.

Oxy:IR immediate release capsules and Roxicodone (generic of same) were discontinued in 2009 at the direction of the FDA. All that remains on the US market is Percocet (oxy+ acetaminophen) and Percodan (oxy+ aspirin.)

This is another example of TSA corruption and abuse. Instead of protecting the airways, these criminals resort to exploiting the system for their own benefit. This is worse than the situation that ultimately led to the 9/11 tragedy. The private screeners were handicapped by a lack of information from the FBI, but at least they weren't criminals.
Since December, there have now been fifty screeners arrested or convicted of crimes including rape, child molesting, theft, assault and drug trafficking. There is clearly a problem when an agency of 54,000 is on pace to have 70 employees arrested for work related crimes in a year. And these are just the ones that have been discovered, while countless others go undetected.
TSA can't prevent crime within their own ranks, why would anyone trust this agency with airport security? While airport security is vital, it is not without limits and the agency cannot be allowed to persist in this corrupt and arrogant behavior.
